Lewd Succession Laws

Lewd Succession Laws

Version 1.3

Some straightforward changes to succession laws that might supplement your average lewd playthrough.

Features

Unrestricted Gender Laws

  • Players can select any gender laws regardless of their faith doctrine. Does not affect AI.
  • As the workshop mod "Gender Laws without Requirements", which I've used before but got broken with the 1.3 update.

Ultimogenitary Partition Succession

  • A "ultimogeniture" version of all Partition laws. They have the same restrictions and costs as their primogeniture counterparts. The AI never chooses them on their own, but can continue playing with them if they inherit it from you.

Futures

In the future I would like to add succession laws for "most attractive/fertile/promiscuous/virgin heir inherits" or "heir closest to adult age inherits", but from a cursory glance I don't think it's possible right now except for voting succession.

Compatibility

  • Incompatible with mods that change gender or succession laws.

Thank you! I needed this. I hope you figure out how to make trait succession a thing.

CK2 had a mod where voters basically just chose the one with the biggest dick or whatever category was wanted. It worked great in CK2, but in CK3 they fucked up elective succession so it works in a way such that you'd never want to use it. Whatever main succession type you have still applies to everything except the singular title that has elective succession. So tanistry is basically the worst succession type possible when every county gets inherited by your sons by partition, but the kingdom and your one capital county get given to some random uncle. Same problem but not quite as bad for elections between children.

You may be able to achieve what you're looking for with pool succession; success hinges on what happens when the 'config' block is omitted and whether that disables auto-generation of successors. There are other options though. You could design the pool in such a way that dynasty members are always selected over non-dynasty members if they exist, but if they don't, a non-dynasty member is selected. You could also design the auto-generation to generate non-dynasty members as well, creating an artificial game-over condition. At least, my understanding is that non-dynastic inheritors are always a game over condition. I seem to recall somehow inheriting the Jomsvikings open succession in CK2 and never being able to get a game over.

Does this mod allow me to have female rulers only but with men only fighting as knights ?

No, it only adds a couple new succession laws.

How difficult would it be to make a option to have the AI change their laws to the most attractive gender of your choice? You'd always have your pick of the crop XD

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean?

Is there a way for me to separate just the ultimogenitary laws so that I can use another mod that alters the gender laws but not the succession ones? I know you are not making changes to the mod just wondering if you could guide me about what I could delete or change for my personal game.

Ah, I see. In "/common/laws/ll_succession_laws_overwrite.txt", you only want the part "succession_order_laws" then. You can delete the whole "succession_gender_laws" bracket. Alternatively, use your other mod below Lewd Succession Laws in the mod order and the changes your other mod makes take precedence.

If there is a choice to make the AI have their daughters inherit instead of the sons, then the attractive children inherit first there would be a large selection of attractive female rulers. Or vice versa. It could also help with marrying off your sons to for renown as well as more... obscene reasons xD

You could force the AI to adopt the female preference or female only inheritance while the player can remain with male preference

I wanted to use this mod in my playthough, and decided to see if I could update it myself. I was able to even though I'm not experienced in CK3 modding, since it is a relatively straightforward mod. I haven't done too much testing, just that the game loads and succession law can be selected.

One thing to note is because of the nature of the vanilla data structure this modifies (succession laws are all stored in one big object that handles a lot of things), it will probably break with most major updates, especially ones that add a new government or succession type (like Roads to Power and Khans of the Steppe did).
