Thank you for making Mai's face swap MOD. I really like it, but it stopped working after the latest update (2024/12).

Is it only the "JP" version that no longer works? I would like to request a correction or solution.

The steam version doesnt work either

I use Steam and can actually confirm that it still works as of now. I think there was a fix patch by DoMopi and then Ceez_M released another update. I applied both and it seems to be worknig fine.

I didn’t have much time, so after that, I briefly tried editing the face swap "ini" file and looked into "d3dx," but...
I'm not sure since when, but I also noticed a warning like "Out of section ~~~" appearing.

As for my setup, I am playing in Japan using both "DMM" and "Steam."
Since I reinstalled the game, I am using the latest version of the "d3dx" from the MOD pack by "Knight 77."
For nude MODs and the Square Bikini MOD, I am using those by "HI-METAL."
For everything else, I am using the standard CCMODs.

No problem! First, keep in mind that whatever I did here was done on Steam, not DMM. I just downloaded CeeZ_M's mod on the very first post (updated on January 14th 2023), removed the working one I am using right now, and unzipped the newly downloaded mod into my game folder. What I saw is that the face from the mod still worked perfectly fine, regardless of the hairstyle that I chose. This means that CeeZ_M's current mod does indeed change the face correctly. The hairstyle 2 works as intended. Although hairstyle 1 is still blonde, this can be changed by DoMopi's fix.

 

My results were different from yours, as for you, only the hair color changed. Taking a look at your posted screenshot also confirmed this. When you applied CeeZ_M's original mod, the face did not change. But when you applied DoMopi's fix, the hair color changed.  So I think for you, the original mod is somehow not working and needs to be fixed.

 

Here are a few things that came to mind:

1. I am not sure if you did the above with the Steam version or DMM version (or both). I would recommend making sure that the right version is applied. This is very obvious but sometimes obvious mistakes are neglected.

2. Have you checked the command lines that were posted by CeeZ_M after a Steam update somewhere in 2022 and tried adding them to your d3dx.ini (make sure you back up your old file)?

3. I know you are using a freshly installed game, but I still wanted to mention that, if you are using the makeup mod, then make sure you rename the Helena folder to "DISABLE<space>Helena".  If you are going to use the Mai Shiranui mod, in my experience, you have to disable the Helena makeup mod for it to work correctly. If you are interested, there is a makeup mod specifically made for this Mai Shiranui mod that can be found somewhere in this thread.

Steam and checked the situation. I also wanted to follow up on some changes that occurred when I edited the 'ini' file during the process.

Mods used:

• [3Dfix-DOAX-VenusVacation-2.3]
• [White Lace Nude]
• [Square Bikini Nude_v2.0.1[mono1214][HI-METAL]]
• [Skin MOD]
• [Tan MOD]
• [Mai_Shiranui_v0.4 (Steam) Makeup ver]

The result was that the face still did not change.

Additionally, after editing the swap mod's 'ini' file, the face did change as shown in the image, but the right half and the area around the mouth (jaw?) did not move, and the mouth area appeared black because the mesh was visible. Also, since the body mesh itself did not change, there was a gap between the body and the head (neck).

As for the makeup part added from DoMopi, the eye color changed, but the makeup did not work. Since there are no conflicting mods, I can't say for sure, but I suspect it might be due to differences between the 'JP' version and the 'Global' version.

I'm a beginner when it comes to editing 'ini' files for mods, so it looks like I have a long way to go. If it's not a bother, would you mind continuing to assist me?

got the game from johren, so I think I'm supposed to use the DMM version of the mods right?

Tried fixing the Rachel Mod on DMM

Rearranged the Vertex Groups of the face to match the ones on default Helena and correct the Config setting the best I could, but there still seems to be issues with her right eye

You also have to arrange vertex group of eye lashes, but it use head weight in this mod.

I like the antagonistic relationship between Helena and Christie, and I'd like to have them play beach volleyball together, but can you give the Christie Face Mod to a character other than Helena? I'm disappointed that Teddy's Christie Face Mod has the head accessory hanging too far from her head.

Swapped the match_first_index values for the eyes and seems to fix the eye shine on Rachel

I used Mai's mod for the first time in a while, but no matter what I set for the eyes, they keep reverting to the default blue.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
