What are the sex scenes and mods like for crusaders Kings?

Hi! I was thinking of getting crusader Kings 3 and some of the these sex mods to spice things up and I am curious how do the sex scenes work in game or with mods? Is it animated or text based?

The main sex mod that most others are built around is Carnalitas, which gives a framework for sex scenes.  The sex scenes are mostly text based, but will generally show the characters involved naked next to the text, and there's work being done now to make more sexual poses available.

 

Other mods do various other things -- some will change up the models (removing the fig leaves that the base game puts over characters' genetalia, for instance, or enlarging breasts), and others add specific kinks or fetishes, some with story content surrounding them.  A few that I've noticed include slavery, sexual religions, giantesses, incest, hyper pregnancy, succubi, mind control...

 

To get a good idea of the basic form the mods take, look for threads with Carnalitas in their name, and take a look at the screenshots inside.  You can then try browsing the other mods to see what they offer.

 

Note that there's a controversy going on right now where Paradox has been refusing to allow same-sex marriage mods, and even rolling back the ability to approximate it.  I can't actually recommend the game at the moment because of that, but not everyone's going to be as concerned about that as I am, so it's down to your judgement.

Thanks for the reply! I will have a look through them and I will buy it, the same sex stuff doesn't overly bother me since I never really do same sex unless I am playing a female but it is weird why they won't allow mods for it

Personally I was mad about the same sex marriage thing on more of a conceptual level. Like it bothers my immersion (and also just the implications make me upset) that its arbitrarily blocked. But poking around the game code I'm at least partially convinced that they just don't trust their matchmaker system, so they put up a bunch of blocks so that the AI doesn't send ineligible concubines. (The block with concubines was added when they added the ability to offer concubines to people). Its probably not necessary, but I think that's their logic. 

The one thing I would add is that there are sex animations, although not many, I haven't had time to make more (though I plan to). I know one other person has made an animation, so hopefully other people will too since the tools are there.

I was wondering if the skeletons would even work for animations. Or if someone would have to recreate

 

On the consort thing. I wonder if this was related to a ck2 issue.  Like you couldnt take your sister or mother or daughter as a concubine, (without divine marriage)   BUT. If someone else offered them the person would accept. I did one bizarre Norse playthru when I was doing genetic experiments and gave all my vassals their mothers and daughters. Incest was compulsory.

I edited the skeleton. The original mostly worked but you needed to add a way for the penis to move independently, but since I had to go through the (honestly laborious) process I added a couple more.

As to consorts, I know incest is easily editable in this game. I personally add great grandparents to list of excluded family. I guess paradox didn't think you would reproduce that fast.
