Hook 5 issue - shadows

Is this a fixable hook 5 issue or just one of the games limitations with the shadows not disappearing when removing addon items via hook?

I think try hitting alt+r (save level first if you want to keep changes or items will reappear). If that doesn't work,, disable shadows on the object from the hook menu
