CBBE, UUNP or something else?

While i played skyrim for a long time, i never tried other body types in skyrim than cbbe, so my question is, what are the plusses and negatives when picking for example uunp? I mainly ask for it because for example in the mod series/frameworks devious devices i can't seem to get the piercings correctly. Also is uunp more advanced?

Nowadays, just preference.

 

Most things can be converted into either one.  Some differences in polygonal layouts, but there are high poly versions of both.
