I tried all features and have to say they all work nicely for me so great work. Â The one feature that I currently mess with a lot is the device patching feature that assigns random abilities to devices when you equip them based on the settings previously made. Â My question would now be: is there a way to more precisely manipulate patched devices outcomes? Is there a way to set ranges and make custom sets of effects for devices? I am usually trying to find the most difficult (yet not impossible to escape from) sets and I i spend quite a bit of time "rerolling" (by reloading savegames) equipped devices until i get a very hard to escape one. Â So if someone can tell me (who is not really an experienced modder) how I can manipulate outcomes to be more exactly what I want (by adjusting the rng in the device patcher) then I would be very thankful for that. Â Also I would love a feature for patched devices to reroll their stats for as long as their health and condition are 100% to ditch mediocre roll on the devices more easily Edited May 27, 2024 by Lowkid2

Have the patches from the AIO installed, do I still need to run xedit for the manual patching? Does every mod need patches for UD, cause I'm seeing some errors for stuff outside of what the AIO patches patch. If so can we turn off this whole everything needs patches and go back to the old way where UD was just it's own thing and everyone else used the old DD system? Edited June 11, 2024 by sinph

Â If you open the UD's ESP in SSEEdit, open Magic Effect and delete that line about TrapPoison, it will use vanilla Skyrim poison traps instead. UD comes with many patch ESP's by itself to save you from having to do that yourself. Just install them as mods. For example Devious Devices, Laura's shop, Cursed Loot are already patched, but you need to put them all in right order in the ESP plugins in your mod manager, order is very important.

Had the package confused with another mod, but yea dl'd 2.1.1. Did the standard patches for dd, laura and cursed loot and everything's sorted properly. Pretty sure every time cursed loot tried to proc UD would error out typically proccing on items from one or two mods not on the patch list. Which was why I was wondering if I needed additional manual patching. Cursed loot works fine when it does find something but seemed like UD completely took over cursed loot's spawns instead of spawning UD compatible items when available and the base when not.

It sounds like it works as it should be working. UD will indeed cause DCL to spawn UD items when they are available. Some of the DCL's items are not patched because they have unique scripts and are not simple to patch. Other than that UD does throw some errors but they seem harmless, it's an issue when they are actually "not working". You can reduce the amount of information UD throws to screen if there is too much.  There is a hidden version of UD in the works that might or might not fix some of those bugs, and no idea when it would be out. People are also waiting if DCL will update so they don't have to patch it again.  But you may have to show specific error lines and how they are actually not working for others to guide you, and about what those possibly non-patched other mods are. There was also maybe DD-NG was it? ...which might not be directly compatible but i don't know or use that either. 1
sinph Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 (edited) Thanks, devious strike and bound girls (not 100% sure which one that's from) were the main two sources of DCL UD script errors off the top of my head. Also did have dd ng so will try without that. If I disable the patch for DCL will it prevent UD integration with it? Think I tried disabling the patch esp and that didn't seem to do anything.  So my default settings are ridiculously low so had to change a bunch of DCL settings to get reliable testing, but yea disabling the patches did nothing to solve this UD DCL integration, that seems to always occur as I don't see any options to disable it. Re-enabled all the patches, and disabling DD NG seemed to have resolve the issues. Turning DD NG back on immediately errors out when DCL procs. Will test it a bit longer.  Still just a bit weird that UD integration's now forced into it, used to be UD items were just it's own thing and if you had the DD patches it would convert DD items into UD styled, now it seems like it tries to call a script to forcibly convert everything in DCL. Devious Strike is a broken mess, i couldn't get it working reliably either. Bound girls will show errors even without UD, it doesn't matter how they work because devices to them are mainly just "armors" without need for any function, although they usually look functioning. DD can't apply effects to items that are in cells that get unloaded for example and then throw those errors.  Load order is roughly: - DD - Content mods (DCL and others) - Content mod patches - UD - UD - DD patch - UD - Other patches  DCL uses most devices from the DD itself, so if you don't use the "UD - DD patch" nor DCL patch then you won't see them in traps either.
kurotatsu Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 That's not entirely correct. UD patches add UD functionality to devices from mods they patch. I.e. if some mod uses only standard DD framework devices - after adding UD DD patch to load order all devices added by that mod would be handled by UD. DCL uses both standard framework devices and it's own custom ones, with custom scripts. This is why even when UD DCL patch used not all DCL-added devices are handled by UD. However them being not handled merely means they behave like UD is not present, just that. They will work as they should.
sinph Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 (edited) Pretty sure DD NG was the source of my scripting issues from the burst testing that I did, procced DCL multiple times no errors, turned DD NG on and instantly errored on the first proc.  Disabling the patches with DD NG still had UD errors when DCL procced, though this was the previous save so not sure if a new game is required for the effect to take into place.  Devious strike for the most part's always worked fine for me, though spawn rates really need to be dropped to like 1% otherwise you seem them everywhere. As for bound girls think they're part of DCL, never really understood the point of them.  Will play some more eventually so if it still pops up will take a look, but for now seems like it was all DD NG. sinph Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Side note, about a year ago when I redid the list for Skyrim again armbinders essentially broke with UD installed, hands would be out, attack animation would just be punches, though struggle animations worked. Tried a few additional animation fixes at the time didn't seem to work. If anyone's runned into something similar off the top of their head.  Fast forward to now, still same issue though DD NG seems to resolved it. But pretty sure DD NG is causing these "getInventoryScript(whaterver item)) - ID have no UD_CustomDevice_equipSCript script!" errors though.Â

That bug blocks any attempt to escape devices saying " You are already doing something" except im not, updating and trying " general fix" option in debug menu didnt help It might be a bit late reply to this, as I have encountered the same issue and found a solution (at least for now).  From my personal observation of using these two mods together (Unforgiving Devices and Beyond Reach), there indeed happens a problem that player is completely unable to perform any action, as it constantly says that "<playername> is already doing something" when accessing any UD items. When the bug starts to happen: After player meets the requirement to start the Beyond Reach questline (2 npcs meets player in one of the cities and starts the main quest). After this happened, player becomes completely unable to do anything regarding to UD (including accessing restraints or even animations wont trigger). This issue persists until player first enters the world of "Reach". (Talk to the NPC in Markarth and agree to travel to Reach), after this is over and the cutscene plays, everything from UD goes back to normal. I have just briefly found out about this, there might be more issues, if there are any, I will make sure to report them here.  Until then, author of UD, you should probably mention the possible "incompatibility" with Beyond Reach. 1

I set key durability to 20, but restraints and chastity keys still only have 5 charges. Or is this somehow related to the DD setting "consume keys" ? Will try to disable that, too. Is there a global variable for this ? Â Edit: Yes, this seems to have been it. After unsetting DD "consume keys", UD displayed [19 charges] after having used it one time. Though this was only for a key I conjured up with the console, not sure if this is the same for keys you get from NPC's. Â Edited June 14, 2024 by nopse0

Its gear is mostly just recolors from DD's ones, so it inherits the UD patches too?

You'd think, but no. At least, not for most of the restraints; not the red hex restrictive gloves, for example. Doesn't show up in the UD devices list, and activating one of the DDe restraints from the inventory just uses the stock DD escape menu.
