monkeycid Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Hey guys, I am hoping one of you may know what I'm talking about. I remember seeing a link in someone's signature here that directed to another message board where someone ny the name of Sandman73 or something like that had posted a detailed guide on how to install Oblivion and additional mods as well as some Lovers' mods but I can't find it. I managed to stumble upon it earlier today using Google but I'm unable to find it again. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I think the title of the guide was something like "How to get a working installation of Oblivion". Something along those lines. Edit: I found it! I found it on Bing. For anyone interested, here's a link.
cobme Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Nice guide , a moron like me will be spared hours upon hours of CTDs and installations with a guide like this! Thanks.
RitualClarity Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I like it however it might be a little outdated and links might be bad. Has anyone used this from start to finish for a install?
monkeycid Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 I've followed it twice now and both installations went well. I followed the guide exactly, installing everything the author installed and ignored everything he didn't. He recommends using Wrye Bash to install most things but I did a manual installation unless the mod was in OMOD format in which case I used OBMM. The only snag I had was that my map messed up after I installed everything listed in the guide but reinstalling Dynamics Map in OBMM fixed it so no worries. I think most people prefer to experiment with mods themselves and choose their own favourites but for those of us whom are indecisive then guides like these really help modify and prepare our game ready for Lovers and I highly recommend this one to start with.
RitualClarity Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Thanks monkeycid. I am going to be new to Oblivion. I want more "modern" look and prep the game for Lovers mods as well. If I am on the same page with most of the stuff, basic stuff I should be able to understand more of the game process and later if I desire I can start fooling around and deeper customizations. In a week or so I might just follow the instructions etc after I finish some RL things first.
