Installing Sims 4 DLC from Steam to Orgin

This is only for people who have Sims 4 base game on Orgin and Sims 4 DLC from Steam. Ok so to get straight to the point, If you have Base game sims 4 on Orgin , But have Expansions/Game packs/Stuff packs from Steam Sales and trying to download your steam Sims 4 DLC over to Orgin, you need to do it Manually.

 

The game will not run on steam just to clarify, if you try, it will just crash over to Orgin saying "ERROR Game not installed" Blah Blah Blah and you will have to repair the game from Orgin to validate steam files. If you run into any problems where you tried to start the game from steam and the game will not load up and crash over to Orgin, click on the Cog(Settings) and click repair game.

 

If your in game from Orgin start up but you get a pop up message saying " Downloadable Content downloading now, hit the orgin tab Shift+F1 to see progress", but you hit the tab and see nothing downloading, this is when you have to transfer your steam sims 4 DLC Manually. Because you purchased Sims 4 content from steam, its already read as owned on Orgin and the DLC should transfer automatically but it doesn't, so you will notice worlds missing from your game. When this happens you will have to carry over the Expansions/Game packs/Stuff packs Manually.

 

So follow these steps

 

STEP 1- Install both Sims 4 base Game Orgin/ Sims 4 Steam

 

STEP 2- When Step 1 is finished, OPEN up both Sims 4 Directories in your C drive: or whatever drive you use and drag over your Ep ( Expansions )/Gp ( Game packs )/Sp ( Stuff packs) from your Steam game folder over to your Sims 4 Orgin game folder. Do not touch nothing else, leave your Steam sims 4 folder how it is after the transfer. It should look like this..... 

 

 

 

Step 3- Done! Start your game up from Orgin, NOT STEAM. 

Enjoy your game

 

Do exactly as I put in the Steps and you should be fine. I also had both apps open for this just clarifying. This is only for people working with both Steam and Orgin Sims 4 content. I hope this helps.

 

Just in case your not able to drag the files over and you get the Administrative message, Restart your computer and do the Steps all over again, It should work.
