trex Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 My game has considerably had an increase in problems since installing elsweyre& valenwood improved, plus a few other mods after that. Since I quite like elsweyre so if it isn't too hard I want to try to salvage this install before rolling back and having to replay things. I constantly ctd when entering or whilst around the IC. The last installed mods were crowded cities/roads. I had problems with elswyre but after cleaning it with TES4edit, it hasn't been as problematic (crash on opening containers ect). On another save I crash all the time when PSE's lover's animations kick in (cannot find pose xxx). Doesn't happen in any other LL mod, and I have only installed the animation pack (not daedra sutra, could that be the issue?). I re-installed the game in Feb iirc, so pluggy, obse 20 and other utilities would be the latest from my knowledge. I also use the stutter remover and weOCPS. Any help would be much appreciated. I have 234 mods installed using a bashed patch with a FCOM install & Magic/Alchemy overhauls. I was considering merging the wigs/clothes mods with tesgecko after I finished trying and adding in mods to free up esp slots, but the instability might make that redundant if I need to rollback. gregathit Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Unfortunately Valenwood Improved is very buggy. It may have improved some since I last messed with it but back then it was a real mess. Elsweyre should not pose any problems whatsoever as I have been using it for quite a while. Part of the problem is you are already running From2chlives and that plugin was an MBP adaption of crowded road and crowded cities. I am guessing that this is what is causing some of your crashing on entering cities. I recommend you choose between From2chlives and crowded roads\cities. Please use only one of these: C3 LoversEscapeRapeVPlayer.esp - this one you escape rapes by using the block button.C4 LoversHelpRapeVPlayer.esp - this one your companions will have to rescue you. If you have no companions then you are up the creek..... See if the above changes bring a bit more stability back to your game. If they do then a bit of merging with tesgecko would be a good next step. Cheers, Greg

I still have regular crashes in IC, and for some reason there was a hire-able pirate in the Bloated Float...which I have no idea what mod added that? I am still running crowded roads & crowded cities...would you have a suggestion besides 2chlives (I prefer less strong NPC spawn) that could replicate the function of the crowded mods? I also do run tavern goers. I was considering this http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/19060 (Immersive Travelers) as the C.Roads substitute. I'll disable the crowded plugins & try just with tavern goers & Immersive Travelers, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the advice on the lovers mods, I had always wondered if I should have been running all the rape help ones together.
gregathit Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 You can choose the two crowded roads plugins or the From2chlives one but just don't use both. I am thinking some of the crashes might be coming from that. Yea, let us know if the Immersive travelers helps but try disabling crowded cities too to see if that helps with the IC crashes. If you game is still unstable try noting down a bit of the error message you are getting with the crashes and let us know what they are.

I may not of indicated this, but I had deactivate the omod (From2chanlives) and got rid of a master-less plugin that was related to 2chanlives, and just ran the C.Roads + C.Cities. No near-instant CTD, but every 5-10 mins in the IC it CTD so not good. I'm now about to run a game without any Crowded mods, just Immersive Travelers and also Smarter Bandits. Had to clean Immersive Travelers (8 Items), and rebuild my patch. I will not be using From2chanlives either. I'll let you know how it goes.

From the comments, it seems that yes, it's incomplete & WIP, but not too buggy/ctd prone if you take a bit of care. For now, I'm probably going to keep it, but if it becomes a pain, I'll axe it alongside its patches. I am also going to run this mod suggested to me by poontank (you may of read my posts in the 'is there a mod? section). He has improved GREATLY from when he started (don't we all) as his first NPC mods were a HUGE mess with all the dirty edits he had in them. It has been well over a year since I used anything of his, so hopefully he has fixed all those issues. I know he was diligently fixing stuff, but it doesn't hurt to check.
