Help changing a mod

Hey guys. I wanna up the number of followers that can be stored in nethers framework since he has explicitly stated he won't up it. Totally respect that. 

 

I would like to try and do this myself. I have tried for a few hours but can never get it to work. I've broken my game a few times as well (woops). If anyone could guide me in this endeavor by either past experience or telling me which scripts I need to look at that would be amazing. 

 

I do not intend to upload the mod for others either. Just for me.
