Guest Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Hi everyone, when I update my mod page I usually also change the main screenshot, but lately it says that I can't upload that "file type". The strange thing is that what I'm trying to "upload" are links to screenshots on the mod details already. ? Did something change with the latest maintenance I'm not aware of? ?
CaptainJ03 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 As you could hide any (bad) thing behind a link, that sounds like a good policy. What keeps you from uploading a simple jpeg?
Guest Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 I really don't know! ? All I do, like I always did, is to open the screenshot (uploaded already to LL on the mod details) in another page in my browser and then I copy the link to the "insert screenshot from link" in the "update files" section. It always worked, but now it says: "that type of file is not allowed ?".

That's because with links you can bypass the 2 megabytes limit the screenshot gallery has. Edit 1: I just noticed I was uploading pngs instead of jpegs this whole time... ??♀️ If this situation is permanent, I'm going to upload jpegs then, it should definitely save a lot of space... Edit 2: So, I just uploaded the same file in a jpg version. (850 kb vs 4.7 MB ??) I also tried to "upload" it as a link, but it tells me the file type isn't allowed anyway. ? ?

Glad that it worked, and glad that the forum forces you to save space. ? Yes, I am ancient, coming from a time when everything I did on the internet had to go through a 33k modem. Having a broadband connection and flat rate makes people sloppy in terms of data masses.
