SSE Mod Conversion - Head Data Errors

I'm trying my hand at converting some Oldrim mods and it's mostly going fine, but a few mods (e.g. Devious Lore) have some stubborn NPCs with weird head data that results in an instant CTD when these characters spawn.

Example from the crash log that points to the head data:
  [   0]    BSTriShape(Name: `MaleEyesHumanIceBlue`)

 

It's usually enough to go to SSEEdit and change these manually, but for some mods with a lot of new NPCs this is extremely tiresome and sometimes impossible (e.g. the "BSTriShape(Name: `FemaleHeadHighElf`" message that I don't know what to do with).

Can anyone explain what exactly is happening here, and how do I fix it?
