tails Trying to swap a tail on a modded follower

Hey all, so I found this hunky guy that I want to make my follower; problem is, I'm not too fond of his current tail (it's enormous and looks goofy to me). I'd like to swap it out with the SMP Matera tail from a mod on here, but in my very limited NifSkope experience, I only know how to swap out hairstyles on NPCs, so a tail is a bit beyond me. Does anyone know a good place to start, or how to go about doing this? It looks like his tail is a separate mesh file.

 

EDIT: Well, apparently doing obviously dumb things that have no chance of working does pay off! I just copied over the tail I wanted into his mesh files and renamed it to what his original tail file was called. XD
