LewdWanderer Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Morning lads, Playing through an alternate start with Devious Cursed Loot this morning led me to an interesting hiccup, a pair of gloves the PC is given are glitched on equipping, producing a curious red&white arrow shaped texture rendered over the player model. Just putting some feelers out at the moment to see if anyone is familiar with this issue/has experienced something similar. I'm suspecting currently that I did not download the mod they belonged to, which is curious as the rest of the items rendered with no issues. As always many thanks in advance, pictures have been attached for reference.
gregathit Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 You are missing a mesh. Either you did not install the mod correctly or you are missing a requirement that the mod has.
LewdWanderer Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 My initial digging has confirmed your diagnosis. At this point I suppose the best course would to reinstall the mods responsible. Is there a reliable method to search for meshes based off their appearance in the game? I'm able to drop the gloves in question and hoist them about with Skyrim's grasping mechanic, they only really begin to misbehave when they're equipped. All that said, I'm struggling to put eyes on them so to speak, with my mod files and Bodyslides alike.
LewdWanderer Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 A bit more investigating confirms that multiple items are experiencing glitched or outright missing meshes, it would seem I'm going to have to do some serious digging on this one, time permitting. I've attached some pertinent bits for any curious parties who happen by, grateful as ever for any insights the community is able to offer. Guest Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 I might be wrong, but are you using the Legendary Edition of Cursed Loot? Yours is listed as version 8.5 (the current LE version), and I think the SE version is only 8.4. If the problem-causing items are from Cursed Loot LE that would probably be the cause. Sorry if thats not it, I hope you figure it out
LewdWanderer Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 The fix has been uncovered lads, it was indeed an obsolete version of Cursed Loot. Many thanks all around for helpful contributions during this troubleshooting. A reminder to anyone having the same issues that may stumble across this thread: Double & Triple check your mods for correct game version! Toddy has given us nearly a dozen different versions of Skyrim released to the PC, or at least it feels that way. We must do our due diligence because of it.
