Do you ever have certian feelings get dredged up from the past while playing this game or is it just my stupid ass?

Sounds.. kind of dumb, I know but I mean it in the same way certain smells bring up old feelings and memories (hopefully pleasant ones). So I was playing as one of the pre-made sims, a male for once, and I was in the "lounge" called "The Inn of Ill Omen" added by a mod (my own tweaked version of it anyway) and after having a stiff drink or two and getting a bit sloshed (thanks Basemental Drugs) the sim L. Faba comes up to my character (after having pursued him earlier at a public pool) and she was a bit flirty and he was flirty like a drunk Casanova and then she pops the question that every guy likes to hear, my sim eyes her up and down for a second, milky pale skin, pink hair (a HUGE red flag IRL), matching eye shadow, stocky build, over all exotic look (ok he thinks), we take a little stroll over to the bathroom right next to the bar area and do as sims do, and this sort of turns into an ongoing fling, meeting up at a public rest area, socializing for a bit, flirting and then "doing as sims do", until I eventually decided to pair up with her and make the relationshit "official". Usually I do a piss poor job at the whole role playing aspect, but for some stupid reason I caught myself feeling a tiny bit protective of the relationshit and it was interesting watching the different "sentiments" pop up after different activites, but now things seem to have stagnated between the two sims. It's funny that this fake little relationshit between two video game toons has managed to mirror any relationship I've had or observed in the past, that being a feel good warmth inducing thing that slowly decays over time into a one sided affair in terms of feelings. I slowly watched as all of her "sentiments" (minus the "strong bond" sentiment) drained away to grey with no new ones to replace them and now they have faded away completely on her side, despite any efforts I've made to have the opposite happen or to get new ones to appear.. it's almost identical to real life in that respect, once the chick is done she's done. First the sex gets old, then the "warmth" dies away (on her end first), and then she starts finding every little thing wrong with you that never bugged her before.. and then she cheats on you with her ex that she's been texting for the past few weeks while telling you "it's nothing" (except nothing like that has happened in the game)... I just can't help but feel like the whole thing has fizzled at this point and that I should handle it the way I would now if I ever got into another relationshit (gods forbid) and that is to yank the plug abruptly and have the toon move on.

 

Ahhh, the one time I choose to entertain my curiosity and this happens...

I feel you bro, things like that happen if you play the relationship game. It's dumb but that's just how it is these days. Good luck in your future endeavors though! Eventually something will stick.

Sounds like you needed to vent friendo. Movies, games, whatever can remind you of someone. You know that the same way she forgot about you, you'll forget about her...just gotta keep on truckin'.

I'm pretty sure I'm done with the whole relationship game (IRL), unfortunately they always seem to end up being an emotional, psychological, and monetary drain with no real pay out. I mean I don't mind investing in something like that as long as there is actually a worthwhile prize at the end. For the most part I've learned to be happy with my own company, which seems to be difficult for most people to do.

 

I just found it kind of interesting how this game brought that out of me, it's not like these were strong feelings or anything. Instincts are a crazy thing I guess.

Yeah man I feel that, some games bring some crazy reflex thoughts out of me too. The inner mechanisms of a human mind are an enigma. I feel like it keeps things interesting.
