Armor mod conversion attempt is causing naked PC, shouldn't.

Heya, folks!  Been here for a little while, first time posting here (I think.)

I'm having what I consider to be a strange, and very annoying, issue.  I'm working on converting an old (circa January 2012) armor mod that got lost in the cracks of the internet to work in SSE, with physics (if I can).  Please note, I am working this conversion strictly for myself, as I have no idea how to contact the original author for any sort of permission, plus I don't speak/read Russian.

I can load it into Nifskope and/or Outfit Studio, and I can make it conform to whatever reference body I load in, and sliders are working like a dream.  I hit Build in OS, and it successfully makes the target .NIFs in the right directory.

When I load it into my game, however, and test it by console command, the item appears in my inventory (the cuirass, in this case), but when I equip it, it immediately unequips.  I equip it again, and nothing.  One more attempt, and it seems to equip finally, but it's not visible on my character - she's just standing there nude.

I need suggestions as to what sorts of things I should look for in troubleshooting this armor - I have most, if not all, the necessary tools at my disposal, I'm just not sure of the specifics of this issue.

 

Lemme know what, if anything, y'all need to see from me with regard to this daft armor issue, and my thanks in advance for any/all help getting it working!

Some other mod is removing your armor.

Sorry, yes.  I did mean BS, as that's where the "Build" button is.

 

As for some other mod removing my armor, I doubt that in this case, since the one I'm working on is the only one that's having this issue.  Fur armor with sleeves shows up just fine, as does Thieves Guild armor and various other clothing.
