Game permanently freezes on certain actions after entering "sculpt" tab of RaceMenu

I ran into an issue where after going into the "sculpt" tab of RaceMenu, the game would freeze upon doing one of two things:

1. Changing any of the CBBE morph sliders

2. Exiting the character editor and hitting the "tab" key to bring up the inventory/map/magic/skills menu

 

Before going into the sculpt tab, I can do either of the two previous things mentioned just fine, but as soon as I go into the sculpt tab, those two things become impossible to do without a guaranteed freeze that requires me to close the game through the task manager. I also find it odd that when only in the sculpt tab, my framerate drops from 144 fps to around 50. I've done pretty much everything I can think of to try and find the culprit for this issue. I've started from a fresh, new install, installing only the bare minimum of mods to recreate this issue (SKSE64, XPMSE, CBBE, BodySlide, FNIS, RaceMenu, SkyUI, and LAL to skip the intro) in Vortex, MO2, and even in NMM, all to no avail. And since the game freezes and I have to manually close it through the task manager, the game technically doesn't crash, and thus won't even produce a crashdump file to look at, whether it would be helpful or not.

 

After weeks of searching around, I could only find just a handful of people who have run into this exact same issue, and unfortunately those people have come up empty for a solution as well. Is there anyone who even knows of the issue I am describing? For the life of me, I cannot find a proper solution to this and I am frankly all out of ideas. Any sort of help would be much appreciated.

This is a few months old...but I've had this issue for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's the latest version of Racemenu? Every time I go into Sculpt and change the face or load a nif file from a preset, then either click on a door or when in Alt start room I click on the bed and the game immediately freezes. like you, I also have to end the game through task manager and Netscript doesn't show a crash. Sculpt tab also drops to very low fps and sometimes freezes for just a moment before working. It's making me not want to use Racemenu anymore, but enjoy all the mods available through it.

Same problem. After scult and create character I try to open inventory ("tab") and freeze...

Are you running an AMD Graphics card? apparently race menu doesn't like AMD very much and this is a common issue with those cards

I'm having the same problem. What I do is after I done edit my character with racemenu and sculpt tab. Don't press tab, open door or do anything. Just make save then restart the game and everything will work fine. No freeze.
