Hey all I've been recently trying to make my own armor mashups in 3ds max but they always seem to come out with problems once i port them and put them in game. That and I dont really know how i should go about the process of reskinning them and such. This task used to be quite easy in oblivion but for skyrim it seems just a bit more complicated. I tried looking around for tuts on the subjuct but have come up with absolutely nothing.

If someone could explain the process of making a mashup to me or at least link me to a thread or some sorce taht explains it asside from just linking me to the basic armor conversion tuts id be most greatful.

This is Melenkamps mashup tutorials. It's not exactly what you're looking for but everything helps with this kind of stuff. It's Maya which if you know the programs is easily understandable when you know 3dsmax. (which I'm figuring you know) the second one is nifscope.

You need to know nifscope if you hope to have an easy time making mashups which is a bit different than conversions or making your own stuff. If the piece of armor you're using isn't vanilla there could be problems with the mesh from the beginning making it harder to complete when you didn't know that ahead of time.

The third one is the best for beginners it shows you how to alpha and color you pieces as well using GIMP, nifscope and maya.

All the pictures have easy to understand highlights so no bitching. just follow the pictures and you'll make magic did it myself.

Plus I can't give you the 3ds max tutorials since you need a sub or be a student/ former student like myself. So my hands are tied on that front.
