TheMadHatter Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I've been a member on here for a long time and I absolutely love LL. Upon reading various topics here I noticed that all switch mods have been deleted because they violate the ToS. I musts contest that issue. While this is a site for "PC" mods it's also a safe haven for modders in general and is basically build around a few games that are modded heavily. While there is (next to "PC mods") no clear legal reason to delete all the mods I have to wonder what this mass purge is based on. Since Bethesda clearly stated we are allowed to mod the game (thus Nexus was born and eventually this site because of adult limitations) and since we are allowed to modify/jailbreak/hack our consoles/computer/phones to access all of the power the device supports and run Home Made Content/Homebrew/Mods etc. as stated in The People vs Apple and various other legal documents where it judges have stated we are allowed to modify our devices, modify the content (if not in violation with copyright (which it isn't because Bethesda allows us to mod)), and allow any tweaks and or modifications to said device itself even if said modifications break the warrenty of said devices. Thus my question is. why did everything get deleted. I can't find anything or any reason why it would be deleted in either the ToS or the general law book (since this site is hosted in the US it falls under US law). Even Nexus still has it's basic Switch mods up (same goes for GBAtemp) since it's allowed by both company and law. Could someone please enlighten me about this issue? Preferably a mod. I've been modding Skyrim for ages and was really looking forward to modding my ORIGINAL COPY of skyrim on the switch, which was a real possibility for a long time, only to find out all mods got deleted. Thank you for your time. (and if anyone has a link to a site that DOES still work with adult Skyrim Dev i'd love to see a PM because I was really looking forward to modding my switch game with all these awesome LoversLab mods).
gregathit Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Look, you have to jailbreak the switch in order to install mods. Jailbreak. Can you do it....sure. Doing so will void your warranty, possibly brick your system and you possibly could have your account banned. Not terribly smart. If Nintendo decides to build in mod support then all is well. Until then, unless Ashal decides to make an exception, it is a no go. Thread Locked.
