RPGX_Omega Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I have been unable to play for awhile. I keep getting CTD when I go to Whiterun or Dragonreach but most of the time can go to other places. I got a CTD recently when attacking random people. I have been disabling mods and fixing files w TES5Edit like recommended. Still getting problems. Really frustrating. I haven't tried a new save cause I have tons of hours into my current save. I don't mind too much I would have to make a character but so much gameplay would be lost... When working w my save w Wrye I keep getting: "Traceback (most recent call last): File "bash\basher.py", line 3138, in DoSave saveInfo.header.writeMasters(saveInfo.getPath()) File "bash\bosh.py", line 2122, in writeMasters obse.load() File "bash\bosh.py", line 1977, in load raise FileError(self.name,u'File signature != "OBSE"')bash.bolt.FileError: autosave2.skse: File signature != "OBSE"" and the save is red like color not green... Do I have to reinstall SKSE or something? I can try to do that and make a new char. I don't know anymore. It hardly seems worth playing/modding anymore as much as I liked to when these things keep happening. I could just avoid Whiterun and such but I need the Skyforge to forge a lot of mod related stuff, and i have even tried disabling Skyforge related mods. Things go fine w TES5Edit. No crashes. I also have the unofficial patches. polluxval Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 when a save is red in wrye bash its because some dependant mod is gone. check the list of mods at the right side of the screen hacing the save game selected in wryebash. let us know what mod has been removed, that could be the issue. if not, maybe is not exactly a script crash or mod conflict ctd, could be a vram ctd instead, wich means, you are running out of video memory. the primary cause of this, is the use of too many mods or HD texture mods.

Post your utilities and their versions. Examples: SKSE version, FNIS version. Again some mods require certain utilities, and further still certain versions of those utilities. SKSE Version: 0.1.6.9 rmm_plugin.dll SKSE_Elys_Uncapper.dll Version: 1.14.3.0 FNIS Idles, Spells: 3.5 ReProccer: 1.6 D. Lastly, but of no less importance is include your Papyrus.log file(s). Post it as an attachment after zipping it up with WinRaR, WinZip, or 7zip. We can often find the problem in the Papyrus.log I did also forget to mention though. While patching w ReProccer, I get to 85% of the patch and it says, "Duplicate EDIDs or FormIDs" To check the log. I bet it is the same thing BOSS says about DUP. Still doesn't explain I don't thik for the Whiterun and Dragonreach CTD's cause I only done this stuff recently. But anyway. I hope this helps, and I didn't do something obviously lame and whatever. I tried to do everything right. I also like to add I have both FNIS's installed by NMM. Should I manually install them?

Hide all helms and hoods should be at the bottom of your load order before your bashed patch. Or get SkyJubs invisible helmets instead and merge it into the bashes patch does the same thing but doesn't have a conflict problem. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18250 5. Clean all of your mods. I don't see any that shouldn't be cleaned on your list. 6. learn tesnip. You have far to many random little weapon mods. You should combine them into one since I don't see any that will be ever updated again anyway. 7. Whiterun Library.esp, Breezehomeexterior.esp, Breezehome - Larger house in Whiterun.esp. with these 3 esps disabled do you still crash? 8. SkyRe_Races.esp, EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp. Water and vinegar. Fit in the same glass but don't mix. Pick one or make a merged patch with tesedit. 9. ShowRaceMenuAlternative.esp. Redundant esp. You already have RaceMenu. 10. Don't manually install anything. Package. Zip . and install with NMM. If you start having problems you can press the uninstall all button on NMM and check whats left over when your done. If you have some random file you forgot about in your data folder its usually the culprit. But if you manually install, everything in your data folder becomes suspect. 11. For SKSE get these .dlls. I only fixed the Breezehome before w a CTD Patch. Will try again if these other fixes fail. 8. SkyRe_Races.esp, EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp. Water and vinegar. Fit in the same glass but don't mix. Pick one or make a merged patch with tesedit. I took out the SkyRe Races cause I need the char edit ones for other things. So that should fix that. I need to look into Tes Merging some more though. Still getting: Incompatible with: Crafting300.esp (Perk conflicts and doubles in crafting)Warning: The SkyRe has many conflicts with other mods. Please read the readme before playing with mod. This will prevent many problems. Read it here W Boss? Might have to look into selecting less options w it. 9. ShowRaceMenuAlternative.esp. Redundant esp. You already have RaceMenu. Alternative is so I can use a shout or something wo loss. RaceMenu is just a custom menu. I don't think it is redundant? They worked when I tried last. 10. Don't manually install anything. Package. Since you're still crashing, you're going to have to do some serious trouble shooting. 75% of your mods are obscure and probably old and dirty mods. So finding out if they are causing a problem becomes more difficult. Along with I don't know what is installed that isn't an esp. So you get to trouble shoot. www.skyrimgems.com http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11 Any mods that you have, that you don't see on either of these 2 lists. Remove. Once you have them removed, start a new character and check the area that was causing you to crash. If the crashing has stopped it was because of one of your mods. If not, it's probably because of something else. But we can't find out until we weed out all of your obscure mods. The fastest and safest way to do this is to uninstall everything and make sure your data folder is clean save for Vanilla Skyrim files, SKSE, and your Java proccer. I've done this a couple of times. It's best to watch some TV while you do it.

Since you're still crashing, you're going to have to do some serious trouble shooting. 75% of your mods are obscure and probably old and dirty mods. So finding out if they are causing a problem becomes more difficult. Along with I don't know what is installed that isn't an esp. So you get to trouble shoot. www.skyrimgems.com http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11 Any mods that you have, that you don't see on either of these 2 lists. Remove. Once you have them removed, start a new character and check the area that was causing you to crash. If the crashing has stopped it was because of one of your mods. If not, it's probably because of something else. But we can't find out until we weed out all of your obscure mods. The fastest and safest way to do this is to uninstall everything and make sure your data folder is clean save for Vanilla Skyrim files, SKSE, and your Java proccer. I've done this a couple of times. It's best to watch some TV while you do it. Like I said here, most of your mods are obscure so it's hard to figure out the problem along with the fact that you said that you don't know how to clean them which makes be believe that one of them is the problem. Even if a mod add one sword to the game it doesn't mean that it doesn't have a wild edit in the esp that changes values to say whiterun. Maybe they were planing on making a store in whiterun but then gave up and decided to just place the weapon some where. But the work on the store wasn't full deleted from there esp so they still have records referencing say weapon which is causing problems for another esp. Which is why I gave you 2 sites with pretested mods to check yours against. So either you learn how to use TES5Edit or you're going to have to get rid of those random mods. Because nobody is going to download all the mods you have to check and see what they have under the hood to find your problem, you have to do it yourself.
shedidwhat Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 FantasyDivine, after moving, installing, uninstalling different mods do you rebuild your bashed patch ? not sure how well Wrye bash and NMM work together do they not bump heads about mod control, load order, and,or file over writes ? ( I have never used NMM ) also dont forget, mods that are replacers, or dont have a esp,esm will not show up in your mods list but can still cause compatability problems. like cloth,armor replacers that use different skeletons than what you use, ENB's, skeleton replacer mods, texture replacement mods just to name a few types you could try this, SKYRIM Save Cleaner by seifer69er http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31724 I dont know if it works or not as I have never used it but it cant hurt ( just remember to make a backup of your save file first ) I would recommend 1 disable, uninstalling all mods except for the unoffical patches (make sure they are up to date) 2 verify Skyrim Directory with Steam 3 delete skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini ( thats in your Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder ) dont worry they will be rebuilt 4 run skyrim with the default skyrim icon or through steam just to where the launcher pop up then exit skyrim (not SKSE launcher) 5 make sure SKSE is up to date if you use it ( latest is 1.6.13 ) 6 watch this video, Cleaning Plugins and Master Files with Tes5Edit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt4W1dZF9IE 7 then try that SKYRIM Save Cleaner program ( dont know if it will fix your save file but worth a shot ) 8 then try loading your save game ( it may still not work because of manual installing of loose files ( wrye bash or NMM cant uninstall those, or your save game is to currupted to work or be fixed. if still wont work = last resort 1 make a backup of Skyrim with Steams Backup and Restore tool then uninstall skyrim 2 go to where Skyrim used to be installed (skyrim folder will still be there ) right click on the folder and hit DELETE this will remove manually installd files 3 delete skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini again ( yea it may be redundent but what da hell ) 4 reinstall Skyrim with Steams backup an restore tool 5 verify skyrim Directory again ( it shoud say 1 file is needed ) 6 try running skyrim with your old save 25 % chance it will work if still wont work = delete or backup the save files (for if better savegame cleaner ever gets made) then delete the save games and start over with new charactor my personal opinion choose 1 mod installer program and use that one only "sorry for wall of text"

I have also been using clean saves and still been freezing though. I disabled a ton of mods recently and going to try again. shedidwhat Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Update.esm Active Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}} Dawnguard.esm Active Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}} that is for bashed patch leveled list right click on bashed patch esp and choose Rebuild Patch. you will get a new popup window click on THE WORDS "Alias Mod Names" ( if anything is in that tab put a check in the box ) if nothing in it DONT put a check mark in the box click on the words "merge patches" same as above if empty dont put a check mark in its box Tweak Settings ( this part is up to you ) Leveled list will have those setting you are talking about above ( so Leveled list "should" already have a check mark in the box ) then at the bottom hit Build Patch ( you SHOULD always rebuild the Bashed patch IF you edit, add or remove any ESM's or esp's that sits ABOVE bashed patch.esp ) anything loading after Bashed Patch does not go into bashed patch so if those get edited or uninstalled it does not really matter and rebuilding is not needed

RPGX_Omega Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Well. I gave in. Used Steam Integrity, and TESV cleaning. Went through doing mods one by one and verifying everything, Going to load a save and do a clean save. Then see where things go. HOPEFULLY things can work now.

I can use the save file that was corrupted! Without CTDing! Hopefully. So now fun time again w mods. and I do not have to do a bunch of stuff over.
kichigaikikyokagome Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Um, I had the EXACT error with "karliah invisibility spell" something or another blah blah showing up in the papyrus logs. What happens in my game is that occasionally, during fast travel or load screens, skyrim will freeze up or CTD. I saw that the mods we have in common are: shootingstars.esp xvisionchildren.esp dynasty armor.esp racemenuplugin.esp racemenu.esp unofficial patches (all 4) race compatability USKP override.esp racecompatability.esm apachiihair.esm And all 4 DLCs I use Wrye Bash with a bashed patch, TES5edit to clean my mods, and BOSS. I haven't cleaned any mods that BOSS didn't tell me to clean. Wrye Bash says my save file is green and good (though it wasn't recently, so this could be a carry-over from a bad save). I'm going to try verifying my files using steam, then cleaning the mods we had in common (above). I don't have any mods that touch Karliah's quest so I don't know exactly what would cause it. What all exactly did you do to fix the problem? Just cleaning the mods, you think? Thanks.

I do use Save Cleaner though. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31724/Make sure you have all 3 options checked before you clean. My only other guess is Heathfires and Dragonborn. Mostly Heathfires would cause a lot of bugs. I am only using Dawnguard recently. Doing those two methods have saved me a bunch of times since these problems.
