Veta Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I am trying to make skeever "armor" ( just a skeever hanging onto your back) . So I make the positioning and then I skin it but it is badly wieghted and looks messed up ingame, I tried to edit the envelopes and set the absolute effect of those that were red and orange to 0 but it doesn't seem to be working ,after I change two or more bones it seems to be re-adding the weight on it's own . Does anyone know of a way to fix this or another way to add the skever onto the body ?( excluding the attach button , that shit won't work) NSFW The "armor" The problem
Vioxsis Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Its in such an awkward place and a really odd object... That the only choice i can see is to correct the weights by hand.
R0R0N0 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I'm no expert but man that's going to stretch like hell in game. Maybe try separating each section of the skeever from top to bottom in accordance to the body's spines (spine 0, 1, & 2) and also the pelvis since it seems to be around that region also. Just set the weights for each section in a rigid manner and then blend each section to one another for a nice stretch. Just putting my ideas out there... whatever
Veta Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Thanks to you both I'll try those ways right away .
skirmish Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I'm no expert either, and I have yet to fully weight something, but what about weighting it partially or entirely to the pelvis or spine?
Veta Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 I have been hard at work trying to understand weighting , I have made some progress but now there seems to be another problem the textures are black , I searched the nif file the textures seem to be in place , does anyone have an idea why this might be happening . This is the file( just the meshes) but it is not complete . Pics
