recreation Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 View File REP - Rorikstead Enhanced & Playerhome I've been modding for a long time, but strayed away from it for almost two years now, so I've decided to release some of my (unfinished) mods since I don't have the time (and don't really care) to finish anymore. If any modder wants to take over any of the mods I release feel free to do so, you have my permission. This is REP - Rorikstead Enhanced & Playerhome This mod was intended to enhance Rorikstead quite a bit with more houses and a playerhome. The playerhome is finished and usable, it has two regular beds and two double beds in the upper floor and one additional double bed in the basement. There are crafting stations and some materials. The house is made with the vanilla look and feel in mind and is based on "Drela's Cottage" iirc. It's fully navmeshed and the beds are usable by followers (I don't remember if it's heartfire compatible, sorry). There are two additional houses added to Rorikstead, one of it was meant to be a store, but I never finished it, so it's just a house that looks like a store, the other house is not accessible, but it looks fine just being there. Surprisingly the mod works and fits fine to "The great city of Rorikstead" mod. There seems to be a minor navmesh issue with both mods installed, but that didn't cause any problems in my tests. This mod is provided as is, I will probably not enhance it any further, but it works fine and even though it's small not finished, I think it's a nice addition to the game. Requirements: None (SSE). Might be compatible with LE, I haven't checked, but it's such a simple mod, that it is possible. Submitter recreation Submitted 09/04/2020 Category Regular Mods Requires Regular Edition Compatible
Neodarkside Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 It is indeed compatible with Legendary edition, just a few lighting issues, rooms being dark from various angles but light up when approaching them or turning slightly. It has a few issues with Great Forest of Whiterun which adds a massive forest to the plains between Whiterun and Rorikstead, theres a few trees that splitting thru some of the buildings, couple look natural, some just didn't work. Layout is fairly nice, using the mod My home is your home, you could even make the blank store act like its being run by your side lined followers. All in all, its a pretty good update to Rorikstead for anyone who's interested in it.

Regarding Great forest of whiterun, I've never used it, but it should be easy to make a patch if it's just trees. Two things I forgot to mention: I've also added a watch tower that felt kinda natural and missing in Rorikstead regarding it's proximity to forsworn territory. There is a char in the store that might have a black face. It didn't have a black face in my old SSE, but now it has, so I guess I forgot to backup a texture before I deleted my old SSE version or it's something in my current installation (guess I should have tested before I installed other mods).
Neodarkside Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I think its a lightning mod issues or maybe difference between LE/SSE. I just know that facing one direction the rooms are darker but turning to face it it lights up better. The lighting mod I use altered all locations so I am fairly certain with custom locations it might have problems, either way was very minor and only happened a few times. The trees I think I could use Jaxon's moving utlity in game to move the tree or flat out delete it, but yeah would just require a patch to remove several trees from Rorikstead. I liked the addition of the watch post, makes sense with the bandits on the other side of the hill and its facing Forsworn territory. 1
