NathanSteele Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Thank you for taking the time to read this... After playing the follower Lise Snowflower's storyline from the "Ashen Followers" mod created by Kyods (if you've not tried it, I strongly urge you to do so, very creative and well thought out), I decided that I would like to create a follower with a mission and back story as well... ...the trouble is, I am a writer, not a game scripter and mission builder. Heck trying to import the animations that I've been working on in 3D Studio Max and Maya into Skyrim has been an exercise in pulling my hair out and the idea of trying to do what I want to do on my own has me believing I stand a better chance of survival standing in front of a speeding bus than scripting a module as expansive as what Kyods done. So here I am, asking for someone's help in partaking in this idea, I believe the storyline and follower's back story to be solid, leading the players through the seedier world in which the Dovahkiin exists in; giving the players the ability to unlock secrets to their past, rekindle past friendships and forge new ones as they undertake the follower's mission... with a few surprises thrown in. I'd like someone that is creative enough to script new dungeon areas, import storyline and text... I might even have some individuals that would be interested in voicing the parts, so please let me know if you are interested. Thanks, ~Nate
NathanSteele Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 PS... just for the record, I am not planning on anything quite as extensive (or annoying in some cases) as Vilja... like I said, along the lines of Lise Snowflower's storyline.
KageKurai85 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 here is the process in case you don't know or didn't know that could really help you, if you didn't know, of course you are on the right track developing the story line first, your next step would be sketch concepts, to sketches, then final draft three sided view [iE. front, side, and back views] then to 3D rendering for all objects, characters and so on. all that takes at least four months. next would be your animations which is about 6-7 more or less months frequenting all nighters, then you need scripting, That's basically your programming and that could take just as much time as your animations or longer, then you do voice overs and such. all in all i'd say it'd take about a year for all of that to complete for the average designer, sorry i'd offer my assistance but i've got to get my life together, otherwise it sounds like alot of fun. now to my main point, BLENDER 3D is probably the best 3D rendering program i've ever tried to use, if you want to develop your own game, use Blender 3D and use Unity 3D to compile it all together. Like I said I'd help if i could but i got some stuff i got to get done in my life first. good luck...
