Mod Organizer 2 and LOOT

I know, I am late to the party. I only JUST started playing Fallout 4 and have been modding it. Been taking the process very slowly. Things are going great so far. No crashes and no issues with the mods I have installed. My issue is like the title says LOOT is not working with Mod Organizer 2. I have done these following solutions I found online but I keep running into the same Error 87 and something to do with my antivirus.

1. I added Mod Organizer 2 file and folder as an exception and reinstalled Mod Organizer. LOOT still did not work.

2. I checked my quarantine (Triple checked to see if they were safe multiple sources said they were) reinstalled MO2 and tried again. No error

3. I installed loot manually and redirected LOOT from MO2 to use said LOOT installed in a seperate folder and gave the same issue.

4. When I run LOOT alone it shows Fallout 4, but no other mods from MO2 just the base game and expansions.

I feel I might be missing something but its been 2 years since I used a Mod Organizer (Skyrim was my last one) and I feel much has changed. This is probably a common error now and I hate to be that person but could anyone help lead me in the right direction to fix this issue? It may be small now but I want to avoid any potential issues. LOOT seems rather important. Thank you.

Are you activating loot from MO2 or simply running loot on it's own? MO2 creates a virtual game file and loot run on it's own won't be able to access this.

Most people that I know of don't use loot. It tends to mess up load orders for mods from lovers lab since most of what the loot team deals with is non sexual mods. I personally arrange mods myself using the following rules:

1.  All mods that change game play (ie things that change perks or maps, add weapons etc.)

2. Body mods and addon races

3. Npc improvement mods

4. Quest mods

5. Sex mods and associated animations

6. Clothing mods

7. Patch mods (place as many as you can near the mod they patch the rest go near or at the end)

One thing with MO2 is the mod order on the left is the way MO loads them into the virtual game and is as important as the esp/esm/esl order in the right .

Hope this helps.

installing loot in MO2 can be done 2 ways as far as I know, one is from MO2 own download folder (recommended) and the other is that you install Loot on any drive (except C; where windows is installed) and add it manually to your MO2 program with by adding it to MO2 tools executables, the thing is that MO2 must be the program you start LOOT from or it wont see your Mods only the game directory. If you start LOOT from withing MO2, it will look into your virtual game folder, and "see" your game and mods you have installed.

Note: you only need to add LOOT.exe. that is how I did and get it to work. 2- be sure that MO2 is also outside your  C : drive, or your antivirus and therefore the working parts of MO2 maybe compromised (learned this in one of the many YT tutorials)

Thank you so much. I relocated my Mod Organizer folder to my SSD and LOOT now works. Excellent! :)

Thank you to everyone who responded as well.
