Blow Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Hello, I have a purchased outfit from Renderosity that I would like someone to be able to port & model it (I sadly do not have much time to do this). I can provide the files and will gladly compensate the person with any game/content from Steam for their time. It can also be made available to anyone when finished as well, I'd be glad to share the final. Thanks.
Endiness Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 You should just pm some modders with your request, as you're announcing, openly, that your trying to give paid content away for free. You can actually gift items to people on renderosity, but it's probably to late since you've already made the purchase.

I just didn't want to come off as a jerk getting help from someone and not sharing it with anyone else you know? I could try to tackle the job myself, but sadly I do not have the large amount of funds required to buy Autodesk 3Ds Max to do so, and the time as well.

I must also ask, would it be possible to port outfits as well as remodel them for certain body types using Blender? Basically, could I substitute the 3Ds Max for Blender?
« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Not sure about Blender, most likely yes because it's very similar to 3Ds Max. I just got Max, I'll try and see what I can do first as I have no knowledge of any type of modelling...gonna follow up on some Nightasy tuts.
Veta Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Yes you can but blender is a bit trickier than 3ds , what armor are you trying to have converted ?
Blow Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Yes you can but blender is a bit trickier than 3ds , what armor are you trying to have converted ? This outfit http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/strictlyhard-rubber-suit/96667 for ADEC. Blender is my only option to use since I'm not a student, nor can I afford 3Ds Max. I'll likely need help with it though if possible. A guide or something would be nice.

The problem there is that he uses 3Ds Max in the tutorial, I'm not sure if there is one for Blender as well since the two programs differ.

Blow Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 But then there lies another problem there. Autodesk only has 2013 on the site, which I believe was far different from 2012? And if I put that I'm a student /unemployed wouldn't I be lying? I'm pretty much still going to have to use Blender, problem is figuring out how to use it though.

No, you can choose which one you want. When you go here: https://students.autodesk.com/?nd=download_center&tagent=SCT-murl-SG-9-26-2011 (make sure you are logged in). Go down and find 3ds Max. It'll say select your version at the bottom, find 2012 and download it.

A student is an individual enrolled at a recognized degree-granting or certificate-granting educational institution for three (3) or more credit hours in a degree-granting or certificate granting education program or in a nine (9) month or longer certificate program, and upon request by Autodesk is able to provide proof of such enrollmen Again, this renders me unable to use 3Ds Max. Is there a Blender tutorial out there?

Is there a Blender tutorial out there? It's your choice to abide by that. there are no checks in the system, they don't check your credit or anything invasive. the consequence of obtaining a student license while not being a student is revocation of the license until you pay for it. The same goes for the unemployed license. I checked unemployed and downloaded and installed it. the fact that I was actually unemployed at the time had no impact on my licensing of the product.
Aoikun Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Also If I recall correctly there was this bodyslide tutorial from Caliente which teaches you how to convert outfits for bodyslide and it had a lot of info on how to import and edit them in Blender and even Zbrush. The tutorial uses an existing armor which is a nif file, but so you can skip the importing part but I think it has useful information and it's worth the read. You can get it from the CBBE mod page here, using slidemaker tutorial.
« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Well @Forest. I am a student myself and managed to get this but as stated above, they don't really check you. I've been using autodesk programs since freshman of high school years and still am using it now for both college and hobby.
