Lop ears credits

Im posting here because nobody ever looks in Nexus...

 

Does anybody know how to get permisison to release a moonshadow elves based race?

 

AND im also investigating the permission to release a race with lop ears

 

Who can i ask? and where do i ask?

 

The author of moonshadow elves in Nexus seems to be missing and i have no idea about lop ears i think the author is oriental and probably one of those who says he doesnt speak english

 

This seems awfully complicated for something that ive seen happening hundreds of times: the release of a race that uses moonshadow elves's resources (mostly modified textures and head06)

 

As this happens a lot, how does people manage it? this permission stuff is way too complicated...

 

Unless i dont actually need permission for using the textures do i?

If you try and release on the Nexus without permission you will get banned.

 

If you try and contact the author and they don't answer you will get banned.

 

You are not allowed to use Moonshadow without permission or Lop Ears without permission so your screwed and unable to do release it at the Nexus.

 

Your safest bet is just to release it here as we don't care

2 mods that came out relatively a short time ago

Both races were built by using moonshadow resources, specifically im talking about textures

And there still on Nexus so how's that possible

 

The must have gotten permission somehow...

 

im asking cause i would like to be as politically correct as i can but if nobody can provide a clear answer ill just have to place it here like Ark of Truth said...

Diablo Elf is built by a japenese modder if I remember correctly. He can no longer be contacted.

 

As for the other race the modder got permission to use the Moonshadow files.

 

Both of those mods came out last year so it's not exactly a short time ago. One was recently updated.

 

When you have got the authors permission you have it and your fine. However if you don't get it before uploading to the Nexus your going to end up in a load of trouble.

 

You can try uploading but don't be shocked if you get banned from the Nexus. After all you need permission to use anything out of them mods even the textures.

DIablo Elf (these races stink of moonshadow resources)

 

Diablo Elves - 'Ren' head mesh. Moonshadow Elves - 'Head06' head mesh. Incompatible face texture.

 

The only thing they have in common is a race variant named 'Moon & Diablo' which emulates elements of the Moonshadow race's tattoos and lip gloss. Diablo Elf seems to have originated as part of XEO in regards to the meshes and textures used.

 

In the description of 'Charming Deception' TieuPhieu clearly gives credit to the Moonshadows' author.

 

The release of the 'Diablo 6 in 1' over there always baffled me. As Ark rightfully stated, the Diablos' original author seems to have vanished, and yet the uploader claimed to have permission. Even funnier the fact that a picture promoted the mod (a 'Hot File' for a while) featuring a ripped Tera armor.

In general there's quite an eagerness lately to post pictures of ripped content...

 

I was always under the impression the Lop-Ear Elf race was made by KKK (KumakumaKokuma, not the Ku-Klux Klan)? This modder's now defunct blog: http://kumakumakokuma.blog38.fc2.com

The author of moonshadow elves does speak english. I'm not sure if she's still around, but you should try sending her a PM and see if she answers.

In Nexus page says contact TerrenceKim324 or Throttlekitty (i have a confusion and i dont know who's the real author, or if both names are the same)

But it appears as if TerrenceKim324, who is linked as the contact for permissions has been dead for quite a while (internet dead)

 

I already sent a pm but i got no response

 

As for lop ears i first thought MissAniThrope (DesuChan) was the author as i found those meshes first in her Doll Race, but later i found out more

As i feared my google-fu served me well and i had already found the page to KumaKumaKokuma's blog featuring in "lop-ears mini elf" and the page looked as dead a as a graveyard in terms of activity. I just thought somedody could know of the author's whereabouts but more and more i see my fears coming true and the imposibility of a "legal" release becoming more of a reality

 

Im starting to think the author has banished completely from the internet and people in Nexus who dares to release mods using his ear mesh does so by betting on this as a certainty and seeing the author is missing, no one would report their files.

 

Also my research has lead me before to the knowledge of diablo elf races being based on XEO ( and clearly some of them use lop ears too) and the whole massive load of races featured among MBP and the other stuff that is placed here http://www.loverslab.com/topic/9-xeo-updated-links/

 

I never took the trouble of investigating further these mods cause there way too complicated to install and i had my own hair and cosmetic race compilation long before i even knew about it, seriously i have tons of rare hairstyles and i managed to place them on an esm file so i use them everytime i want a new race, i guess im more comfortable that way.

 

Ive seen XEO here and im under the idea that its "illegal" in terms of Nexus, so thats' why its here. So curiosity assaulted me when i saw "Diablo 6 in 1" i was as Poontank said, totally baffled. How do they allow it? and even more how is it still there? i have seen images of ripped content that only lasted for a day before the banning hammer fell down so i thought it would only last a few weeks top but its still there and nobody gets it out. Its a complete mistery

So i guess there's no point in it now, as my race was already released, authorships were already clarified for future searchers and every credit for moonshadow elves, and lop ears is already identified, only remains to ask the authors but if they dont respond, then permission is not possible (my sad case..), i dont know if that was just my luck or maybe someone could have better luck in contacting them, but directions are already here.

 

So seeing i dont see further point in it, i suggest to moderators to close this thread on my request, you are the all mighty moderators so its your decision now, having it opened, doesnt harm anyone but its pointless...

 I downloaded your mod, and I noticed that for some odd reason, while you seemed to be somewhat anxious about giving other people proper credits, you haven't credited Dustin Flan @ maxheartflan.com for the eyes you used in your creation. Hopefully you're going to fix this as soon as possible.

Another possible solution for this terrible situation would be to simply remove these fabulous eyes altogether from the mod.

The first thing I did when trying out the race was making my own eye files, overwriting the eyes in question. "And if thine eye offend thee..."

Yeah, Pootank was right, either remove the eyes, or credit dustinflan, that's what people normally do when they use someone else's resources in their mods. Please inform us about your decision asap.

You know... I'm all down with the credits thingy... I always say it's about respect to fellow modder... so I was entirely drinking the cool aid with this being a friendly place and I giving proper credits... I was willing to do it with a smile on my face

 

But that attitude... that attitude like I committed a mortal sin... "burn it to the stake!!!"

You know... people actually might be willing to do things if you ask NICELY... but somehow I can smell something evil cooking here and that's not nice at all...

 

Anyway my pride is not bigger than my desire to have this mod be the best it can, nor bigger than my desire to honor my own way of thinking and be respectful to others as is my motto, so I'll eat my wounded pride this time and put credit... even If it doesn't feel it was nicely asked

 

I made a mistake, yes I'm sorry, but I was entirely willing to make it right in nice terms... instead I feel the goddamn inquisition on my ass...
