hyungry Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 I'm a total noobie when it comes to blender right now(slowly trying to learn), but I can't seem to find any tutorials on how to convert wearable CAS CC objects into decor. I wanted to convert this http://modthesims.info/d/589401/samsung-gear-vr-2015.html into something I could place onto a desk or something. If anyone could link something helpful or have it done, it would be greatly appreciated!

That’s the best tutorial so far, just ignore mesh creation part and go to convert object http://sims4studio.com/thread/826/create-object-mesh-package-existing

I'm assuming I have to import the CC mesh into blender and save it as an .obj file first, but when I do that (export > .obj) and import the .OBJ file I've created to match an EA mesh, the textures of the CC obj are missing and it shows up pink lol. Am I misisng a step into saving the texture files along with it?
hyungry Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 Oh nevermind, I figured it out. Not sure if it's the most efficient way but I had to unpack the textures first and save them somewhere, and re-apply them after importing the .obj files. Thanks for linking the tutorial!

Yep always export , textures , normal maps shadows , you can ignore specular maps, if you wish to make the object shiny, open same difusse texture,( the one that gift color to object) go to selective channels In photoshop and adjust to red, blue or green. Them import to your package as specular map , and will be shiny. read everything on this blog, tea moon made best guide so far for sims 4 conversions or mesh creation, also save his tutorials as pdf, because someday blog might be erased. http://teanmoon.blogspot.com/2016/04/the-specular-texture.html
