Ravana Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 So I've been enjoying Dragonborn with my sexeh kitty, dungeon crawling, doing my thing, and then I notice these... strange black particles following me everywhere: http://i.imgur.com/WvBIXiq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ooI7PKd.jpg And they will NOT go away. I don't have any diseases, no negative magical effects, no positive magical effects from armor, and I highly doubt it's storyline related. I think they only started happening after I met Miraak, or at least that's when I noticed them. Does anyone have any idea what these could possibly be? Nothing will make them go away, and they're very distracting :C I don't have a very large mod list, but my biggest ones: Dawnguard Dragonborn Hearthfire SkyRe Wet and Cold Convenient Horses Dragons Diversified Immersive Armors Immersive Weapons SkyUI Also, on that note, is there a quicker way to copy-paste my modlist? I imagine the problem may be in the mods, but it could just be the bugginess of Dragonborn too.
GrimReaper Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 It's a spell effect from a creature that got added to your character because Skyrim. Looky here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/872861-tutorial-removing-unwanted-magic-effects-from-the-player/page-1 The last page contains the IDs from stuff that got added by the dragonborn DLC: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/872861-tutorial-removing-unwanted-magic-effects-from-the-player/page-8&do=findComment&comment=7369220 I don't recognize this particular effect, so you have to do a bit trial and error, I guess. I have to say, I never had this problem, but with Dragonborn I already got effects from Dwarven Spiders, Draugr and the Death Hounds from Dawnguard stuck on my character. bleh
Ravana Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Oh gods, thank you, I was worried I'd be stuck with it forever D: Funny, too, that thread says this is one of the most common problems people have, yet this is the first time in about 500 hours that I've seen it happen. Thanks
nekroskoma Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 do you have any of the unoffical patches? i think it fixes alot of the effects sticking but the changelogs are long and its been awhile since i read them it a pretty common problem alltogether for effects to get stuck on characters even though they should not at all, just think of those on console who get hit with it personally i rack it up to one of those odd bugs in the engine, or somebody who forgot to check a checkbox
xD3c0yx Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 By the nine.. =o! Have you tried the classic "stick" remover yet? I know for most pre patch bugs, UN equipping your gear or dropping it in a container would remove glitched arrows, spells, etc.. ?

I tend to wait (perhaps foolishly) for DLC to be mostly complete before picking up UOPs, to make sure they're more comprehensive. I do feel bad for those on console versions with no access to these fixes x.x I really think they could put a command console into those versions; a bit of extra effort using a keyboard with an analog stick/d-pad is worth the ability to debug, in my opinion. By the nine.. =o! Have you tried the classic "stick" remover yet? I know for most pre patch bugs, UN equipping your gear or dropping it in a container would remove glitched arrows, spells, etc.. ? No, but I'll keep that in mind next time it happens, might save me a trip to the console.
