Redflyingmonkey Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Hi. So this is an old issue, caused by whatever fucked up windows 10 process calls to xAudio2_7 during my gameplay, conflicting with Skyrim as it uses the same audio .dll, and crashing the game. Most solutions I found were to delete that file, relocate/rename it, or use xAudio2_8 or 2_9 in it's place. The problem is : all of those "solutions" only completely break the sound in SSE. I looked and looked for another answer, but no dice. Posting this here just in case someone had the same problem and solved it.  Ps : I've killed most Windows 10 processes, didn't help (including the TabTip.exe most people with this issue said was the main culprit).
Fotogen Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 From https://steamcommunity.com/app/311560/discussions/0/528398719804196382/  Another solution is to run SERVICES, and stop the Touch screen typing program: Press Win + R, type 'services.msc', press Enter Find 'Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service', and double tap/click it Click Stop Select 'disabled' at 'Startup type' This program has a 15 minute timer and it quits XAUDIO2_7.dll for some reason 15 minutes into a game, causing your game to crash. Unless you have a touch screen and use it for typing, you can permanently turn it off using the above steps. Worked for me.  Can also be  Looks like lost of bloatware can crash that xAudio thing Â
Fotogen Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Another think I remembered. You sound settings in Windows. Some game don't like it if its, how to say, above average. 24bit, 480000Hz. Something in that direction.
Redflyingmonkey Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 My problem disappeared for now ! Closed another 5 services, ta da !
