Building outfits with another body - textures issue

I am currently using the BHUNP body, which works quite nicely. I also have a lot of outfits which are made for CBBE. From what I read, it should be possible to have several bodies installed (which I do), so I could build a CBBE reference body in Bodyslide, build the CBBE outfits based on that body, and then build the BHUNP body at the end. The net result should be using the BHUNP body, but also be able to equip CBBE outfits (based on the CBBE temporary reference body). This kind of seems to work, but I am having an issue with the textures. I have UUNP textures which don't match up well to a CBBE body, so the body shape is fine, but the nipples appear at the wrong place and there's weird patches on the hips. How can I handle the textures difference, since if I import another set of textures for CBBE, that will cause problems with my BHUNP body?....

The Unp body and all its derivatives use UNP textures
The CBBE body uses CBBE textures.
If you want to have both bodies, assign UNP textures to UNP and assign CBBE textures to CBBE.
for example:
CBBE
femalebody_1.dds
femalebody_1_msn.dds
femalebody_1_s.dds
femalebody_1_sk.dds
UNP
femalebody_2.dds
femalebody_2_msn.dds
femalebody_2_s.dds
femalebody_2_sk.dds
Or just redirect the link to some other place where you put the second texture

That's interesting, thank you! But how do you actually do that assignment? Should I just copy the CBBE texture files in the folder  ..\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\textures\actors\character\female, making sure that they are named femalebody_2.dds (currently femalebody_1.dds is a BHUNP body), etc? There must be another step: you mention a link: is that in a config file?

I managed you wrong, the texture change will not work because the game uses an esm file that has a higher priotet than the nif file. Sorry about that. This only works for followers without textures assigned to the esp file. So it turns out that by changing the outfit with the body you also need to change the texture.

I was thinking that something that might work is to disable the BHUNP textures, enable a CBBE texture, build the CBBE body, build CBBE outfits as a batch in Bodyslide, then disable the CBBE Textures, enable the BHUNP texture and finally re-build the BHUNP body. Would that work?

No.

If you're hell bent on using different body types then you could add a new Texture Set in the armor mod esp for cbbe textures and apply it to all the CBBE bodies. A MUCH more sensible solution is to just convert the outfits to UNP.
