Latest Steam update causing lag?

Steam problems and error's can usually be solved by deleting Clientregistry.blob and then relaunching Steam. But steam and it's many updates usually fix most of the bugs then end up making more bugs then they fixed

I ran into an issue a while back where steam would always update on computer startup. The update was always the same size and it took about five minutes to finish. It was an absolute pain but I found a fix after some digging. It was a problem associated with the beta which was strange given that I never opted into it. Anyways, I was able to fix it by creating a shortcut for the steam.exe then adding the launch command "-clearbeta" without quotes via properties.

 

It should read something like this: "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -clearbeta

 

I may or may not had to delete everything within my steam folder with the exception of the the steam.exe and the steamapps/userdata folders. Honestly can't recall but still hope this could help someone. Sometimes steam is more trouble then it's worth.
