Custom Race playable from a follower

Hey guys! I wanted to ask a if its possible to make a custom race playable formyself that is only avaible for the follower. Espacialy I am talking about the mod Maelstrom https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/29170

I looked up the race ID in the editor and applied it to me via console but I ended up with no body and the head texture was just default. I liked very much the follower idea:

So I wanted a playthrough as a comparable being. I know that it is possible, I just dont know if its a lot of work to do to make it possible. Because I have only 5h between work and bed time so I wanted to ask if its a lot of work to do, I will just stop trying and instead just play the game. Thank you for every information!

Ck- >Load ESP as active File. go to race, find the one that is edited (*). Right Click>Edit->General Tab->Tick Playable->Accept->Save the ESP, custom race should be in showracemenu in game
