Trouble picking companion

Sorry if this has been covered before

I have several Four play mods enabled. I also have the vinfamy console. When I tried to talk to Codsworth, I got a popup that asks do I want to have this companion or not or do nothing.  If you choose to let them become your companion and then talk to them again, you get the same popup. It is the same for the other two choices. I have gone into the Vinfamy console and toggled it both ways with the same result. I have saved on exit for my choice. I finally re-installed the mod and got it to work for Codsworth. Now I am stuck on Dogmeat.   I was thinking of disabling all the Four play mods and then trying it. If that works, then I can go back in and enable them. I have googled this problem and found a bunch of other people were having the same problem  and I think I have tried everything that they suggested. Does anyone here have any idea what could be the problem?  Thanks

do not really understand what you need, but four play is old, and has been replaced by AAF.

I'm having this very issue. When I talk with anything this window comes up instead of normal talk options.  I can't trade, I can't get my companion to get out of power armor nothing. Here is a pic to help. I've tried to load a previous save. Took all foreplay mods off then tried again but it seems to now be embedded into the game permanently.

 

fixed: So I finally got the vinfamy menu to come up. Apparently not hot-keyed on my game the same as everyone else. Just toggled the companion mode and that fixed the issue. I can now talk to others now and trade and stuff.
