Atomic Beauty, CBBE, FusionGirl etc... what are they exactly?

I know they change the shape and texture(? not really sure about this one) of bodies in the game, but what are they exactly? 
Asking because i'm currently looking at an Atomic Beauty bodyslide preset and it's extremely good, buuuut i'm a CBBE user and have a ton of armors for CBBE (most converted through either Batch build or simply build in bodyslide to fit my edited sliders).
I'm wondering whether if:

a) installing this atomic beauty bodyslide preset and "building" everything in bodyslide to fit it would work?

b) do i need to switch from CBBE to Atomic Beauty as a base to make this preset work?

c) would just rebuilding all the armors from CBBE make them work with the Atomic Beauty preset if i switch from CBBE to Atomic Beauty?

answer: cbbe is body shape, use original cbbe body builder to make OWN SHAPE (you will need probably look how i done it in fdbb - faites des bebes 2020 version, its setup of tool to generate your wished body for clothes)

custom clothes are unable to match own body (if not given setup for cbbe bodybuild)

 

you need to add your preset to group which contain all clothes (like i did)

So even if i have bodyslide files for all of the clothing im using (meaning i can change it to fit any of the CBBE body shapes i create by moving sliders around) the bodyslide files wont fit the atomic beauty preset?

1. have buildable clothes in bodyslide - need shape data, not any clothes have - LOOK FOR PACKS WHICH HAVE

2. have preset

3. have group

4. have assigned group to preset

5. do massive build all clothes)

Yes, i know how to reshape clothes to fit my preset. My question is, will clothes that are supposedly CBBE Bodyslide work with an Atomic Beauty body if i build them using the Atomic Beauty preset.

if atomic beuauty is preset yes, but if it complete own body (not just preset), not ... it depends on shape data... you need use data compactible across all - i use for example ccbe hdt (yes i put customized, but still based on cbbe hdt so same shape data)

To put it plainly, Atomic Beauty and Fusion Girl are different body shapes. You would have to convert all your CBBE armors to either Atomic or Fusion Girl in order to wear them. Most textures that work for CBBE will work for Atomic and Fusion Girl.
