Xbox controller issue

I enjoy using an n Xbox controller for pc games and after purchasing Oblivion I attempted to use the x padder method outlined in
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Controls#Xbox_360_Controller_for_Windows, but when I load my game the camera spazzes out and spins around randomly. I assume it's a driver issue of some kind but would appreciate some help.

Now in the posts above it, there are some plugins that "may" help but the consensus is that a controller is not all that great for oblivion.
 

 

The other thing I have seen recommended was this program: http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/

I don't know a damn thing about it so use at your own risk.

 

Personally the only thing useful to do with a controller is to smash it with a sledge hammer......but to each his own.
