Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 So what trouble did the mayan appocolypse cause for you ? In my case, I basically posted wall posts explaining that anyone who honestly believed it was an idiot, and had about six or so people I went to school with defriend me on facebook (who told me about it at least). The best part was one of their mothers joined me in mocking her son.
polluxval Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 a lot of bullcrap on tv. im from mexico, so you can guess the hell it was here. a lot of ignorant bullshit people that every other country sees on tv and make mexico look bad, gathering on some old ruins to wait for deception. i have to be honest, i was really dissapointed it wasnt the end of humanity, but not because i beleived that bullcrap, but because we deserved it.
Strelky Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 It gave me a ton of dumb teens saying that the world already ended and the government covered it up
Captain Cobra Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Not much, got a stomach ache from eating too much Christmas candy.
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 trouble hmm i remember now i give big middle finger to history channel , discovery channel and harold camping for saying the end of the world plus i cant sleep that night thanks alot assholes.

I stopped watching the history entertainment channel years ago, when nostrodomous and hitler became their main focus. Haven't watched discovery since the early/mid 90s.
Dude500X Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Not much to tell the truth, It was more of an American thing really
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 Not much to tell the truth, It was more of an American thing really Yeah, the 24/7 propaganda cycle feeds shit to the masses and they lap it up as if it were a fine single malt.
LordJerle Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Disappointment in the noticeable lack of zombies.
Something Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I was also disappointing in the lack of zombies. I mean I have a cricket bat and everything (yes i'm American) and I only needed to use it three times. Ugh. Otherwise, I was following the idea that the Mayans and Nostradamus predicted Gangnam Style would reach one billion views on youtube, which did happen
Guest Plastrader Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 My trouble with it was that it didn't happen! It would have been hilarious if the Mayan people were right all along, when all others were wrong. On an unrelated note I could say I got the achievement in CIV5 Gods and Kings...
Guest Lehshara Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Disappointment in the noticeable lack of zombies. +1 No zombies :c
polluxval Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 was there supposed to be zombies? not exactly, but the mayans "supposdly" predicted the apocalipse, wich could be a zombie infestation. i still hope they get the date wrong and soon we will get zombies. no matter if i die first.
leddis3 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 was there supposed to be zombies? It's not really an apocalypse without zombies. **** of the Dead movies had zombies, 28 Days Later had zombies, Fallout had zombies, 2012 had John Cusack which is pretty much the same thing, and so on.
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 well actually imo zombies are real but not real in a form like what you see in the movies , a real life zombie is resurrected by shaman in African folk story , it's creepy he uses voodoo dolls to do that a pint of human DNA especially the hair from the passing somehow trigger the dead body to rise from its grave. necromancy on asia part of the world has this kind of cult where they can actually alter dead body forces them to rise thus become zombie "body without brain "
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 Fallout had zombies No it didn't. It had Ghouls, who were just radiation rotted survivors of a nucular exchange (or something else, in Harolds case). They were fully sentient, and not feral zombies at all. Unless you're talking FO3, but that's not really a Fallout RPG so doesn't count.
dboura Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 in the original fallout there was a gang of ghouls that referred to themselves as zombies as well.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 in the original fallout there was a gang of ghouls that referred to themselves as zombies as well. The fact that they refered to themselves as such shows they're not . Zombie was a slur directed at them, yes, but considering one of the major caravan companies had a route directly to a major ghoul town I think it's obvious most knew that they were not.

Unless you're talking FO3, but that's not really a Fallout RPG so doesn't count. Actually, first off Fallout 1 had feral ghouls which WERE essentially zombies as they attacked unprovoked. second, Fallout 3 is one of the best in the series, are you intentionally trying to provoke people with statements like that mate? Sure, it wasn't based in the same region as Fallout 1 and 2, but it fit the lore pretty well. Just because you don't like a game does not make it not count. And Fallout 3 was a hell of alot better than New Vegas.
Captain Cobra Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 And Fallout 3 was a hell of alot better than New Vegas. Your opinion is invalid.
Dude500X Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 And Fallout 3 was a hell of alot better than New Vegas. Your opinion is invalid. Give me one solid reason that makes New Vegas better than Fallout 3. Fallout New Vegas had no exploration value at all. Fallout 3 had alot of caves, buildings and more to explore than New Vegas. The story in Fallout 3 was far more personal as well. In New Vegas the story is great up until Benny and then magically you have to somehow care about who rules the Mojave. Fallout 3 had Karma consequences, Karma in NV is a joke and should not have been implemented at all. Sorry mate, but Fallout 3 has FAR more lasting potential than New Vegas ever will. Also, Fallout 3 using Energy Weapons and Power Armor made sense. In New Vegas Power Armor and Energy Weapons feel alien and out of place, as does the Mojave Brotherhood of Steel. New Vegas also essentially FORCES you to side with the NCR, House or Yes Man if you want to get the most out of the game. Playing as Caesers Legion essentially cuts you off from 50% of the games vendors and quest content. Infact, siding with the NCR, Legion or Yes Man should of been omitted entirely. House is the sole reason you are alive in the game and betraying him makes no sense at all.

Nothing i just went about my usual everyday business, but i had a good laugh at all these people buying all sorts of "end of the world" crap stuff, good propaganda to fill someones pockets again. Best was these people going into bunkers or other hiding, lol if the world is about to end i doubt a bunker, or anything will help.
AgentChicken Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 The so called "Mayan Apocalypse" was over hyped and even had a Disgusting movie about it. I laughed my head off at these people spending thousands of dollars on these underground bunkers and selling their houses because they were scared. Frankly a good Nuclear wasteland is what Humanity needs to kick itself into gear anyway So Pretty much all i did was drink on that day and went on with my normal Australian life
