Here in 2024 trying to get this thing running on a Windows 10 machine.

 

My previous W10 machine worked just fine with the "easy" installer. My current one doesn't. Am trying to install via the "ISO" files (which aren't ISO files, they are old BIN + CUEs which are less practical). I am getting an error when running setup.exe saying the "transforms are invalid".

 Have you already fixed it? Microsoft has an automated tool for download related to exactly those issues in Win10

just select the program from the list (which should be there if it had trouble starting) 

if this doesn´t help you could also try manually re-registering the windows installer

win+r
msiexec /unregister
win+r
msiexec /regserver

The solution to this was painfully straightforward:

 

Install with "easy" installer -> Uncheck the "read only" from the game EXE properties -> Apply 4gb patch.

If the game doesn't detect your DirectX, use dgVooDoo.
