ZepD Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 So I have somewhere around 70 mods installed, which took some time to get working properly. What I'm wondering is how I can backup / preserve how it is. Say for instance I upgrade to windows 8 and get a SSD would just dragging my old installation directory as is to the new system program files folder suffice? Or would I have to completely re install then overwrite the newly installed game directory with my old installtion directory? Or would niether of those work? I guess worst case scenario would be to keep the original game files (skyrim + official DLC) and then just have a folder with all the mods ziped up and include tools like NMM/SKSE.
dergyll Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Whenever I want to install a requirement-heavy mod, or an annoyingly complicated mod, I always make a copy of my current working skyrim folder. Sure its big, like 15Gb but better safe than sorry. I just copy-paste. As long as your versions line up you should be fine. Elder Scroll savegames are very versatile, they'll run with just about any newer version of the game. Good luck
