PeachParfait Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 I've been playing with Snapdragon ENB for almost my entire time playing Skyrim, but I've recently tried Rudy ENB and it's fantastic, the only problem is that I really dislike the shimmery specular effect it has. I know that the texture I'm using (custom blend) is capable of the effect I want because I get it with Snapdragon, and I know it is possible to get the effect from tweaking Rudy from the user pictures on it's Nexus page. I've played with a lot of the enbseries settings but I'm not really sure what I'm doing and the threads I find on google are mostly about turning up the gloss rather than changing the look. For reference, I found this screenshot in the Rudy user images and it's exactly what I'm looking for - https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/110/images/41482/41482-1562912873-845404750.png Thank you!

The main ENB things that effect skin specularity are under ENVIRONMENT -> Specular settings. Specifically, "SpecularFromLight" should be very low (I typically use 0.05 or so when I want high-gloss.) You will also want to adjust multiplier and power to hit the effect you want. Even with that, finding the right place (correct direct and point lighting, low ambient) can be a challenge. A setting that looks good in one place can look crap in another. Generally I use a customized ENB with weather awareness and location weather, and created a bunch of "dummy weathers" that allow me to make ENB settings for each place I go so that the lighting is what I want. If I tweak a setting a lot, that's fine as it won't mess up the lighting in another place.

I updated the specular map and it is much smoother now (I'm using the Pure Skin spec map), but it still has that metallic look. Thank you for helping me btw, I really appreciate it!

Pick one and put it up by 1.0 or 2.0, see what changes, then adjust the other to dial it in. Honestly, that looks fine to me, but this kind of thing is subjective. Comparing to the metal on her chest though, this looks basically right for a semi-gloss skin. You could ask that dead guy in the corner what he thinks though (Fort Amol?)

Thank you so much! I would ask him if he liked my character's new look, but he doesn't seem very talkative for some reason.? Nightcaller Temple. Now she looks appropriately glossed to beat some cultist and invader ass!
