popopopopooop Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Hi Guys, might be a really simple and silly thing that I'm missing but how do you change the skin tones of Custom (other user created sims) while using CAS? If I choose skin tones of custom sims via create a sim the main skin still stays. I've done this before I'm sure but not sure how, it's just really bugging me now that I HAVE to fix it you know?
modella Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Hmmm, the skin tone on the sim might actually be in the “Skin Details” section of CAS possibly? Check and see if the custom skin tone the sim is using is there. If so, unselect that skin detail, go back to the actual skin tone part of CAS and see if your skin tones are able to show up on the sim

gpt1128 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Eventually you will reach the point when you have a handful of skin tones and details like the rest of us CC hoarders, some of them are called overlays, which use the same skin tone and only apply a transparent layer of details (or whatever, it could be a nose overlay, freckles, etc) over your sim. Non-overlay skin tones are opaque and "ignore" your sim's original skin tone, this kind of skin detail is often applied on the outermost layer of your sim, meaning other skin details (and even most tattoos) won't show up because they are below (RemusSirion's skin details come to mind).

Most CC skindetails and tattoos can be made compatible to these skins very easily though Link. It's actually not a layering issue as my skins lie on the very bottom, but it's a blending issue, that's why most EA content will never show up unless someone decides to make standalone versions of them with altered compositionMethod
