Building against Hearthfire sources / Compiler Paths

In Legendary Edition...

Working with the NFF sources, I found that it requires Hearthfire sources to build.

Building in NPP that was no issue, as I could simply add the Hearthfire folder to the -i option for the compiler.

However, building in the CK fails; it can't find the Hearthfire sources.

I looked for something I could set in the SkyrimEditor.ini and SyrimEditorPrefs.ini but couldn't find anything.

Well, there is a path for sources, but it doesn't allow multiple directories, it's single-dir only.

Where can I set the compiler options and paths when building in the CK?

If this doesn't work, I have endless pain going in and out of dialogs, as it fails to build the fragments.

The only help I could find was on setting up alternate builds, which I already have working, and don't need to fix.

For now, I copied the Hearthfire sources into my main sources folder, but that's terrible. NFF has numerous overwrites of them, but even worse, I already had some script variants in the main sources folder that clash with Hearthfire and didn't come from NFF.

I'm not sure what's going on with that. Maybe some other mod stuck them there? The dev machine is in NMM, so it's non-trivial to find out where things came from.
