Halo 4 Armor mod conversion texture issue

More or less I tried porting a Skyrim LE mod to SE for the first time, so far the converted esp and meshes of the mod function normally however I can't get it to use the right textures. The mod itself is a non-Nexus mod but it's a basic armor mod that originally came with .TGA files for the textures for LE. I converted them to .DDS as I read that SE does not read .TGA files but it did not make a difference when I ran the game again after converting. Is there something I can do to get around this?
