Just picked up new vegas again

Hello!

 

I've been playing skyrim and oblivion on and off for the past year. I got new vegas when it came out and beat the game, but then uninstalled it and it has sat in my steam list for awhile. Now I'm bored and want to pick up the game again and heavily mod it, but I need some suggestions as to what I should look for first . I've been looking a lot of this stuff up on the newvegas nexus, but I want your opinions on which ones are the best.

 

Obviously I want body and texture mods, I had those last time but I had problems getting them working with the mod manager. Does the mod manager still have the archiveinvalidate bug that it did last time?

 

Weapon balance mods would be the next step. I remember in the vanilla game that energy weapons were seriously gimp compared to guns and explosives, so unless that has already been patched can someone point me to a good rebalance mod?

 

I want a crafting overhaul too, I remember that you couldn't make drugs, and craft a lot of the ammo types (they had to be found). Unless this has already been patched, I'm looking for something that allows me to craft pretty much every item/ammunition/chem/food in the game.

 

To clarify, I'm NOT looking for mods that add in weapons, armor and items. Just rebalances and unlocks (for crafting) stuff that is already in the game.

Well, if you're planning on using sexout you don't really need body replacers. Breezes male bodies and, I think, type 6m females are included. So unless you want to use different bodies/textures thats covered. And yes, both FOMM and NMM have archiveinvalidation integrated. We here on loverslab mostly endorse FOMM over NMM due to extra functionality.Edit: I misread your question. Archiveinvalidation works as it should in FOMM. I havent used NMM much so I cant say there.

 

There are many rebalance mods on nexus, and a lot of them are pretty good. My personal favorite is Project Nevada.

 

Crafting is already pretty good in New Vegas. There are a few mods that expand on it in different ways. I personally don't like crafting much so I can't help you there. I'm sure someone else will jump in though.

I run with the mission mojave bug fixes http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45104 , and I run with J.E. Sawyer's personal rebalance mod. Jsawyer is not on nexus, you can only get it from his blog at http://twofoldsilence.diogenes-lamp.info/

 

In case you're unaware, mr sawyer was one of the main designers involved in creating New Vegas and his mod showcases how he really wanted to have hardcore mode implemented in the game.

 

I like these two because I believe they provide the best balance between bug fixes and difficulty without greatly changing the gameplay experience. Arwen's and New Vegas Enhanced Content and Fook are also popular mods but change too much for my own tastes.

 

I can't really help with crafting either, it's not a big thing for me.

NMC is nice. Make's things a bit prettier. Ojo Bueno is better in my opinion, but to each their own.

i know what you mean

 

as i got enogh from oblivion (allmost melted the Dvd from reinstalling and Finaly got it perfectly stable with mods )  . need a change but   I am facing an ugly fallout 3  it is a shock (i asked my self geck or jerk ?)

 

instead of opening a new one i am using your thread as it is a similar request more or less.

 

i realy need pointers if you dont mind thanks in advance.

 

Is there somewhere a mod that change the main character something like oblivion or skyrim with a nicer facegenerator  or a kind of ?

 

and about animation (i do not need sex animation my character seems to have alredy a stick somewhere) walking, running something more realistic ?

 

about graphics have you any advice i am not looking for perfection just what to look for i would like to play with something immersive.

 

need just some pointers to be less confused  as it's realy hard to start .

looked over the net and i see fallout 3 had not challenged a lot of moders a little bit upset as i played it one finished all the quests and liked it.

never mind  just found fallout NV cd better graphics (not great but playable ) 

 

any way i have found great leads in the adult threads more precisely in sexout .
