hashigicc9 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Hello, in case my title is confusing - I bet it is - I will try to explain my question better, and please, answer to me honestly because it struck me as an idea, but everyone are good in theories, it's the actions that matter and make an impact, so here we go : 1. Is it possible, to have one profile with all your mods in MO2, yet, make another profile and play with a different save? I've noticed save slots. 2. Same question but with a different body type, example : Profile 1 has UUNP with physics, Profile 2 has CBBE with physics. ^Are these things possible? I saw profiles in MO2 and got the idea, but am reluctant to do them in action due to messing up anything from bodies to physics. When I am loading a new profile, every mod is still there albeit deactivated, so, I don't know. Also, should I make sub categories for the mods or this is gonna be weird/mess with the mods overwriting system? Screenshot for reference.
Arthacs Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 When creating a new profile, click the "use profile specific saves" and the ini one and the profiles should be "unique" with its own saves and ini files. I use profiles mostly for modding steps: Install all mods I need for a base game, like BS2, Unofficial patch and so on, then I copy profile and install all NPC replacers, then copy profile and so on.. Each profile will have its own mods activated/deactivated, but do not use "overwrite" folder, they all share that. -When I mod with MO2, I actually just have different folders with different ModOrganizer2 installed, so it is easier to use with less mess, it will offcourse take up alot more HDD space. So I may have one for CBBE, one for UUNP, one for Male Player, one for Female, one for CK stuff and so on.. U can use profiles for this aswell, if u can handle the five thousandmillion installed mods for all profiles mixed together.

Hazzel1337 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 no thats checkboxes you can mark when editing MO2 profiles or making new profiles. Like your P2 one, click on manage profiles on the drop down menu and you should see what he is refering too

I don't want like to mess things with p3 for example, delete that, go back to p2, and have the same exact issue.

Like, I want to separate the mods and profiles in a way that I can start completely clean in another profile, how can I achieve that, please?
dragonvale Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 The "problem" with multiple profiles is that every mod you install or uninstall is added or deleted in/from every profile. Let's say you add 5 CBBE related mods in your CBBE profile, those mods are also added in your UUNP profile at the end of the load order but they are not active. If you delete a UUNP mod from your CBBE profile, that mod is also removed from your UUNP profile. So to answer your question, you can safely delete one profile as long as you don't delete any mods. BUT like Arthacs wrote, It can become a mess to manage different profiles especially if you consider the amount of files related to CBBE or UUNP (textures, outfits, followers, etc...) If you want to do it anyway. a useful thing could be to add a separator. Just like mods, they're added in every profile but if you move it at the end of your modlist in the profile you don't use you can be sure that the mods below it were added for your other profile. To create a separator right-click in your mod list and choose Create Separator.

Now, if I could find someone to help me out how to use BodySlise correctly and how to make an armor mod to not be invisible....that would be awesome. xD
dragonvale Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 The safe way is to create two different istances for CBBE and UUNP, but the downside is that you have to install every other mod twice and if you use a lot of HD textures you'll probably need another HDD... ? That's why I don't do it. 23 minutes ago, hashigicc9 said: Now, if I could find someone to help me out how to use BodySlise correctly and how to make an armor mod to not be invisible....that would be awesome. xD I'm afraid I can't help you with this 'cause I just started using UUNP and HDT and you were one of those who answered me, so... Btw, have you received permission for those files?

Anyway, I made some progress because I found an xml file for UUNP special so there's bounce in my game now! To be honest, I didn't asked anyone. Here's my reasoning, although, this may look really bad to everyone here : 1. Can't contact EACH individual modder and expect them to answer, not always working, some of the files I've uploaded are also forgotten/scrapped by authors. 2. I am sharing it, not getting ANY dime or profit, so, technically no piracy is involved and each mod has links/pictures/author's name, so, on the contrary, I am doing them a favor. 3. I strongly, STRONGLY, believe and nobody can prove me wrong about that, that once you do something, upload it online for everyone, and leave it right there, online, for everyone, again, it stays for everyone, whether someone likes it or not, that's a fact. Of course people are gonna download it, because, that's the main point, right? And of course people are gonna like keep it saved somewhere, share it with friends or people they know, or just regulars who need help looking for a mod. 4. It's on a personal, PERSONAL link of mine from my drives, meaning, no Nexus, no LL, no Reddit, Absolutely NO place on Earth online has any right or a say on this matter, case closed, party's over. So, yeah, to answer your question and your dirty winky at me, no, I didn't got permission and I don't really believe I have to, unless I am about to upload it somewhere of the aforementioned places and get payed for that, in that case, I am obliged to contact the authors and tell them about it, but getting money for someone else's work is a very shitty thing to do and that leaves a real bad taste in my mouth each time I am thinking about it.
dragonvale Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 My wink was for the joke about "Back To The Future", and I agree with you about not uploading the work of others elsewhere. I don't know how these things work so I'm not the right person to give advice, but try to ask someone who knows more about it because you may have problems even posting your link in good faith. Anyway, we're going too off-topic, but thanks for the reply.

Nothing major to be fair, just a waste of time reading their butthurt comments. lol Even though I've watched that movie years ago as a kid, I still don't remember that, but then again, I don't remember almost anything about it. haha It's alright, it's my topic, I don't really mind but we should stick to it, yeah, I have got my answers and I am okay now, I think.
