$NO_F4SE

I'm guessing I installed the f4se file wrong because after I click new game this shows up with an option to click "OK". I am also guessing this is why when I get to character creation menu I have grayed out mod options and no list for slides or anything. 

 

Please help me

MANUALLY unzip F4SE to your Fallout 4 folder.

I tried doing it manually and still I get the same message when starting a new game. $NO_F4SE. I downloaded F4SE then I right clicked on it, chose open and it brought up 7z and I tried both extracting to the folder and even clicking on F4SE and extracting the individual files (Data, src, customcontrol, fallout4loader, etc.) to the file and it still comes up as $NO_F4SE.

Did you create an icon on your desktop that points to F4SE?

?…… no. Do I extract to desktop and then put the files in the fallout 4 file or to I just put the fallout4 loader on desktop similar to how skyrim does?

If you have manually unzipped all files & folders of F4SE into your Fallout 4 Folder, just find the F4SE exe file & right click on it, and the option to create a "shortcut" on your desktop should be available. Once this icon is created, use it to launch the game.........Always. Never use fallout exe to launch the game, it will mess up yer settings.

did that and the $NO_F4SE didn't appear but I think with me continually trying to add the files to the fallout 4 file it messed something up because when I went to a new game and got to the character creation screen I clicked on clothes (which I assume is one of the mods that lets me remove the clothes) the whole game froze but the background sound didn't. I couldn't even control+esc. I had to reboot my computer. SOOO I am trying to uninstall to get rid of the messed up fallout 4 file and redownload it to start fresh.

This is a bug in the LooksMenu mod.

It's been reported, but the author has not fixed it yet.

To avoid this, undress you character before using looks menu.

 

To do this in the pre-war section of the game before you have a pip-boy, you will have to use the console.

1. When standing in front of the mirror, Press ` (Tilde) to open console.

2. Click with your mouse on the player character.

3. Type:   unequipitem 174d2f        in the console.

 

Edit the body the way you want, and when done type equipitem 174d2f to re-equip your clothes.
