Editing an NPCs default inventory

I'm having trouble getting my custom race follower to wear what I tell her to since it's not as good as what she's been given as default.

 

I've tried to edit her in NPC Editor to remove all default clothing, it did work but since she's a custom race she didn't appear correctly in the game afterwards.

 

I've tried to edit her in CK but I have no idea what I'm doing...

 

Is there some other mod/program that would allow me to change her inventory to have no default clothing?

I would install Extensible Followers Framework or Ultimate Follower Overhaul. They both let you change your followers' default outfits.
