Quick question about birth control

In pregnancy settings, I have the automatic birth control option enabled, but in my primary character's statistics, it doesn't show that they've ever used it. Is that only counted in the statistics when birth control is manually selected?

It should count regardless of it being auto/manual, but you have to make sure your sims have it in their inventory to use.

That explains it. I thought it was just like getting food items out of the fridge, where it would automatically purchase them for you if you didn't already have them.
