CTD Whtierun

Ok. I am having a problem with CTD when entering Whiterun. I had no issues entering until later in the game. I gained levels and could no longer enter due to CTD.  I can COC to other cells in Whiterun, but not Whiterun's cell itself. All ways I can enter Whiterun I CTD.  Thanks in advance for any help given.

The SSE I'm not sure if it has the same problem, but when I had the CTD in Whiterun on LE, it was because of a mesh error.  It was trying to load in a mesh that wasn't right.  You might check to see if any mods have added something new to Whiterun and switch them off.  If there is no crash then that was your problem.

I got a short look in your papyrus log - the best would be to use https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53045 with your savegame. It analyzes the payruslog and the papyruspart of your savegame and shows you the cause of your problems. Takes some time to analyze ( the longer the bigger the savegame) but its worth it. For some problems it even offer automatic fixes of the savegame and backup the old version of the savegame. BTW the new created savegame is only available in SE if you use "Show all savegames" in the load menu. Immediatly after loading it make a new save, try if its CTD and if yes make new run with the tool. It's sometimes neccessary.

 

BTW - before I forget - you should install and run LOOT - It's normally not neccessary if you got a modmanager with an integrated loot client like mod organizer 1&2 but in this case it helps to analyze your installation, because loot gives you a list of warnings and errors that could be helpful for analyzing your problems - maybe there is just a simple message like "mod x and mod y are incompatible and can cause CTD"

I disabled my mods that modify cities for the most part. I can trial and error it some more later if savegame scapel and LOOT (instead of internal LOOT from MO2) can't fix my issues.

no luck guys. still getting CTD after using LOOT (which load order is OK, same as the auto sort in MO2) and savegame scapel isn't working correctly. Any other ideas? I have ruled out my mods that modify cosmetics (terrain/textures)

Whiterun worked when I was lower level and I reloaded a previous save and It was working. I'm wondering if it is the alakir being broken...
