*Shrug* Some people would rather have a "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" without the commitment or compromise. Is it lazy and/or unhealthy? Perhaps. I try not to judge. Hell, given some of my kinks, I doubt I have the right.

 

Edit: And some people might just use one as a sexual aid in an already healthy relationship. I know I'd totally share one with Boyfriend if we bought one. I think it'd be hot.

I think its going to be homebrew programs and small dev teams that are gonna make it or break it with the Oculus Rift.

 

Its not so much virtual reality as it is extremely immersive gameplay or video. But I can immagine with a few years of practice and development, small dedicated teams can integrate the oculus rift into tons of games and programs. They already did it with TF2 and I bet once the rift if out on the market its going to explode into many games.

 

Imagine playing Oblivion, Skyrim, or Fallout in first person with the oculus rift. Working Oculus Rift with Oblivion all the adult content and you've got yourself a recipe for getting all my money.

I'm not too bothered about adult games, but the device itself i'm pretty hopeful for.

 

Sadly its temprered by the fact its unlikely to take off. I likw 3D Vision, but the only area 3D seems to have taken off is cinema. Its good tech, but with ghosting, wrong depths, and other issues, its just not good enough yet, and didn't get the exposure. I know no one else with 3D Vision or even a 3D TV in my home town. This 'failure' has made me reluctant to support these things, as they end up a useless paperweight that costs a lot of money. And this new one looks pricey.

At least it doesn't appear to be doing things the way other adult entertainment companies have - charging for everything.
