OmgItsaGhost! Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Okay so, I was thinking of finally trying that Requiem for a Capital Wasteland mod, but it looks pretty risky to use if you aren't exactly computer savvy. So my question is, how do I make a back up of the entire bunch of game files?
Tregarin Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Pretty simple... you need to right-click on the FNV folder, click on "copy"... then find a nice empty place (say, somewhere like your Documents folder) right-click there, and select "paste" Then go make a coffee or something since it'll take a few minutes to copy it to the new location. And when if it fucks up, you can reverse the process and copy the folder back to where you got it from. Although, if it does screw up, make sure you delete the folder in the original place, rather than just slapping the copy back on top of it. (not deleting it can and often will leave problematic files in place which just causes problems later on)
OmgItsaGhost! Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 lol how do I know if it gets effed up?
Tregarin Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Well, it's hard to describe how you'd know... the obvious ones like NV not working properly even if you have RfaCW turned off. It's not hard to spot when it has fucked up, just very hard to describe it to someone.
Towny Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 A "Fuck up" in a sense is when you put in a shit load of mods and don't know what is conflicting with what, and to get rid of the problems and save yourself some headache is just to come back from a backup.
